HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 99-54RESOLUTION 99-54 BEING A RESOLUTION OF THE COLUMBIA HEIGHTS CITY COUNCIL APPROVING AN APPLICATION FOR A CURRENCY EXCHANGE LICENSE WHEREAS, the President of Younge, Potts, Wiezer and Company, Inc. has submitted a license application to the State of Minnesota to operate a currency exchange business at 4110 Central Avenue NE in Columbia Heights; and, WHEREAS, Chapter 53A.04 of Mjnnesota State Statute requires that currency exchange license applications shall be submitted to the governing body of the local unit of government in which the applicant is pwposing to be located; and, WHEREAS, a notice of the City's intention to consider the issue has been published in the May 6, 1999, edition of the Focus News; and, WBEREAS, the City has 60 days from April 16, 1999, to take action on the request; and, WHEREAS, there is not another licensed currency exchange operation within one-half mile of4110 Central Avenue NE; and, WHEREAS, the proposal is in compliance with the Columbia Heights Zoning Ordinance. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Columbia Heights City Council that the application for a currency exchange license to operate at 41 l0 Central Avenue NE is hereby approved. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Columbia Heights City Council that the applicant shall be responsible for reimbursing the City for costs to publish notice and to send written notice to adjacent properties within 300 feet of the subject property.
