BEING AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 853, CITY CODE OF 1977,
RELATING TO LICENSING CAR STARTING OPERATORS
The City Council of the City of Columbia Heights Does Ordain:
Section 1: Ordinance No. 853, CITY CODE OF 1977, passed June 21, 1977, shall be
amended through the addition of the following language, to-wit:
SECTION 9
CAR STARTING OPERATORS
5.209 (1)
No person shall engage in or conduct the business of starting
cars, trucks, or other motor vehicles without a license issued
pursuant to the provisions of this Chapter.
5.209 (2)
Applicants for a license under this section shall indicate on
the application the number of car starting units to be used
in the business.
5.209 (3)
No person shall be licensed under this section unless such per-
son shall first furnish to the Clerk evidence that such person
has public liability insurance covering said business in a sum
of not less than $10,000.00 for property damage and $100,000.00
for injury to one person and $250,000.00 for one accident cover-
ing the entire period licensed. Said policy shall be written
by an insurance company authorized to do business in the State
of Minnesota.
Section 2:
5.209 (4) No licensee under this section, or his agent or employer, shall
deceptively mislead customers by advertising false or incom-
plete price figures for the services licensed hereunder.
This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after thirty (30)
days after its passage.
