Meeting called to order at 8:10 P.M.
All members present.
Minutes of the last H~eting were read and approved.
Mr. Chester Mc Callumwas in regarding the curb situation at 40th and Van Buren St.
~nd the City Engineer was 'asked to discuss this with him.
Mr. Roy Bentzen as spokesman for the Commercial Olub, recommended to the Council
that the Exclusive Franchise to Verne Passage for operating Taxi Cabs be approved.
Motion by Lange seconded by Trench, that Orfei &-Mariani clean out the 2nd Street Sewer and
re-set risers according to specifications and provide accurate measurements for
stacks. Roll Call -AllAyes.
First readihg~of'Ordinance No.269, Being an Ordinance repealing Ordinance No.202,
Being an Ordinance to Amend Ordinance No~96, Being an Ordinance providing for the
licensing of Taxi-Cabs and regulate their operation in Columbia Heights ~ =
First Reading of Ordinance No.270, Being an Ordinance to Ammend Ordinance No~96,
Being an Ordinance for the Licensing of Taxi Cabs and regulating their operation
in Columbia Heights.
A request was~made to have 4th Street between 4~th and 45th graded ~hrough
and the city Manager will try to acquire land so that this could be done.
The ~inneapolis Gas Co. should be asked to fix the street at 45th and 4th Street
and the City Engineer to report at the next meeting on this.
Another Petition was received opposing the rezoning of University between 44th .
and 45th. Motion by Spekulant seconded by Trench to refer thia rezoning question
back to the Xoning Commission ~th action. Roll Call - Ail Ayes.

the City manager to get further information.

Co. permission to do the following work:
i Pole in Alley N. of ~th Avenue N.E. between Jackson & Van Buren, also buried
cable ~th three poles and one anchor east of 2~ St. N.E. and Edgemoor Plac~
south of both Ave.
I Pole at 39th Ave. N.E. at the Alley between Van Buren and Central, also place
b~ied cable and one pole in Golf Place and Heights Drive and buried cable in

A letter ~s received from the C.H. Civic Improvement Assoc. regarding improving
Park Property at Silver Lake and that they recommend this. ~otion by Yencho

sm~ount of $19~.62 for ~ater Bill of the Taxi Lunch Building, in accordance with

12,13,14 and 15, Block 8, Roslyn Park, to be used as pa~rk and play ground

Council of the City ~ Columbia Heights that the City Treasurer be and she is hereby
instructed to transfer the sum of $1,000.00 from the Liquor Fun~d to the Police Fund;
an~ that there are s~£ficient moneys in said liquor fund to make such transfer.

Council of the City of Columbia Heights that the City Treasurer be ~ud she is
hereby instructed to transfer the sum of $1,000.00 from the Liquor Fund to the
Fire Fund; and that there are sufficient moneys in said Liquor Fund to make such a
