Roll Call - All Ayes. ~ request from Raymond Ross, 2110 - llth Ave. S., was read, asking the rezoning of Lots .~Do 54, inc., Block 5, Reservoir Hills, for multiple- family dweiling/.~-%ion by Yencho seconded by Spekulant that the matter be turned over to the Planning Co~muission for a hearing as soon as possible. Resolution offered by Yencho seconded by Lange, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBIA ITEIGHTS HEREBY RESOLVES that, '~fHEREAS T. H. #65 northerly of Columbia Heights is now being used by a traffic volume exceeding the capacity of the presently-constructed 18-foot pavement; and ~'g4EREAS the area northerly of Columbia Heights is rapidly being ~developed as suburban district which will add further to t,be traffic volume using T. H. #65, and 'A~!_EREAS the present development adjacent to the right of way of T. H. #65 is such that the widening of the right of way would remove a large number of homes and business places at considerable expense to the State and inconvenience to abutting property; and WHEREAS T. H. #65 is the only north-and-south highway through the area. It is recommended to the Commissioner of Highways that T. H. #65 be relocated and improved on a route approximately one-fourth mile westerly of the present location, thereby providing the area with an added north-and-south route from T. H. #lO0 to T. H. #lO near Spring Lake Park. Roll Call - All Ayes. The city manager advised that the U. S. Public Bldg. All members present. Minutes of the last meeting were read and approved with the followig amendment: The resolution raising the pay scale of truck drivers, laborers and p~-rk board employees of the city of Columbia Heights is deleted and replaced by the following resolution: "BE iT HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Columbia Heights that the p~.y scale for all city employees be increased two cents per hour over the wage set for 1949, based on a work week of forty hours."
