All members present.
Minutes of the last meeting were read and approved.
A request was received for water on ~2th & Stineen and they were informed this
would be turned over to the City Attorney to get the alloting of expenses on
Corner Lot.
~rs. Burlingame,l~35 - h2nd Ave' N.E. was in asking why they have to pay on
the trunk sever when they could have no sewer and she .was told this would be
referred to our City Attorney to see ~hat could be done to exempt this property.
A Petition was received for a Street Light on ~2nd and Tyler St. N.E.
Notion by Spekulant seconded by Trench, that the City Manager contact the
Northern States Po~r Co. asking them to install a light. Roll Call - All Ayes.
The City Council was informed the street light pole on 50th & 5th Street ~s
in the street wi~_ the curbing behind the pole and the City ~anager was asked
to notify the Northern States Power Co. to move this pole. · A request~was also
made for street signs and they were told these v~ould be available in the near
future.
Plans were discussed for a new Liquor Store and the City Manager and Er. Trench
were asked to meet with Liebenberg & Kaplan's representative to discuss tmntative
drafts.
A letter was received from Chas. Kennedy, 2323 Jefferson St. regarding grading
the street in front of his house so the Ninne~oolis Gas Co. could install a
gas main, and he was informed the City Engineer vould contact him and set the grade.
Mr. Milton Ouimette was in and discussed with the Council,plans for building
on 39th & Central Avenue and it was suggeated that he obtain approval from
the Planning Commission.
A letter was received from Charles A. Sawyer, Assistant City Attorney, City
of Minneapolis, also a Resolution, relative to the installing of a 28 inch
water main in certain streets in Columbia Heights. Notion by Spekulant
seconded by Trench to adopt this Resolution subject to the ~pproval of our
City Attorney, which is as follow~: "Granting to the City of Minneapolis
a permit in perpetuity to install and maintain a water main in certain Streets
in the City of Columbia Heights upon certain terms and conditions."
Roll Call - All Ayes.
Resolution offered by Lange seconded by Spekulant, WHEREAS, a partial assessment
for sev,~r has previously been levied on Lot Three (3) Block Thirteen (13) Walton's
Second Subdivision of Reservoir Hills; and, V~EREAS, assessments were levied against
the above described property as part of Local Improvement No.200; NOW TP~REFORE,
BE IT ~EEBY RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Columbia Heights that the
County Auditor be and he is hereby a~thorized to strike from the assessment rolls
the assessments on Local Improvement No.162 against the above described property,
subsequent to the 1929 levy-a total of $22.12. Roll Call - All Ayes.
Resolution offered by Spek~ulant seconded by Yencho, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED bythe
Oity Council of the City of Columbia Heights that the City Treasurer be and she
is hereby instructed to transfer the sum of $1000.00 from the l~quor Fund to the
Street Fund; and that there are s~_fficient moneys in said Liquor Fund to make
such a transfer. Roll Call - All Ayes.
A letter was received from Mr. Ondick, Union Representative, regarding additional
salary for City employes for 1951. Notion by Lange seconded by Trench to place
this letter on file. Roll Call - All Ayes.
Motion by Spekulant to grant permission to LeRoy LaFenda, 4249 Stinson, to live
in a trailer for 60 days. This motion lost for the lack of a second.
A letter was received from the Fire Department regarding the purchase of a new
Fire Truck. Motion by Trench seconded by Spekulant, that the Mayor, City
Manager and Yencho attend the Fire Department meeting Friday evening June 30th
to discuss this. Roll Call - All Ayes.

Meeting called to order at 8:10 P.M. All members present.
Minutes of the last meeting were read and approved.
Inquiry was made regarding the Petition for sewer between 41st and 42nd on
Cleveland St. and if this would be installed this summer. They were informed
no money was available at this time but everything possible wo~ld be done.
The City Council was informed the Dead End Sign on 41st and Central was not
effective and the City Engineer was asked to check this.
Interested parties were in again regarding the installation of sewer on 38th
Avenue, v~st of University Ave., and they were told investigation would be
made regarding another Bond Issue for additional urgent sewer projects.
Everything possible v~uld be done to put this in.
