Providing .for the Issuance of $185,000 of Bonds for creating and maintaining
the City's Permanent Improvement Revolving Fund', which was given its first
reading.
On Motion made, seconded, and carried, said ordinance was ordered filed
in the office of the Secretary of theCouncil and to be published as a
proposed ordinance in the next issue of the official newspaper.
Motion by Hosch seconded by Holm. Roll Call - AL1 Ayes.
Motion by Hosch seconded by Holm, den~ing the request of Frank P. Micek
3934 Jackson St., for a liceo~e to peddle fruit and vegtables from door
to door. Roll Call - All Ayes.
Motion by Holm seconded by Julkowski, that the following license

Parking Lot be awarded to Sallblad Electric Co., as specified for Bid A
$3800.00. Roll Call - All Ayes.

The awarding of bid for water and sewer extensions was taken up.
Motion by Julkowski seconded by Holms that Sandstrom & Hafner be
awarded the .bid at $14,167.40. Roll Call - All Ayes.
Resolution offered by Julkowski seconded ~y Hosch, WHEREAS, The City of
Columbia H. eights in the past years~ and at present is the largest contributor in
the form of taxes for the maintenance of County functions, ~and
WHEREAS, The City of Columbia Heights for, several years has contributed
greatly in excess of $50,000.00 annusS_ly to the Road and Bridge Fund, and
WHEREAS, The City of Columbia Heights because of this heavy demaud on it,s
taxing ability~ has been unable to finance extensive improvements to it's
streets and roads, resulting in dissatisfaction~ ~ annoyance to it's citizens, and
WHER?~E, there is a critiqal need for assistance in co ~rrecting the situation
by the Board of County Commissioners, therefore be it
EESGLVED: The City Council of the City of Columbia Heights petition the Board
of County Commissioners of Anoka County, to m~ke a su~v~ ey a~d grant assistance
for such improvements, and be it further RESC~VED, that a copy of this
resolution be forwarded the Board of County Commissioners of Anoka County
for their attention. Roll Call -All Ayes.
The matter of re-storation of street where sewer and ~ater was installed on
34 to 40th on Polk and Johnston Steeet$ was taken up.
Motion by Hosch seconded by Julkowski, authorizing the City Manager to s~end
up to $1,000.00 for the re-storation of Pol~ a~d Johnson Streets from 39~
to 40th. . Roll Call - Ail Ayes.
The rest of the evening was spent goi~ over the 1957 Budget with the
Park Board and Fire Department.
