The spplication of Taft Marine to acquire a part of Outlot "A" was discUsSed
and it was decided to meet Frids~ at 2 P.M. to try and come to a deeision.

One Bid was received on Towing Contract for the City from Central Skelly Service.

Motion by Hosch seconded by Knutson, that this bid be referred to the City Manager
for investigation and a report brought back to the next meeting. Roll Call - ~_~_ Ayes.
The Park Board presented bids and their recommendation on Fencing, which they wish to
purchase.
Motion by Hosch seconded by Enutson, that the matter of Fencing be referred back
to the Park Board, and that the request for bids go through the proper channels.

A Hearing was held on Awphalt Surfacing for ~incy Street, 43rd to 45th.
Motion by Knutson seconded by Julkowski, that the City Manager be authorized to
p~oceed with this ~ork. Roll Call - Ail Ayes.
A Hearing was held on Asphalt Surfacing for Van Buren Street, 44th to 45th.
Motion by Julkowski seconded by Hosch, that the City Manager be authoriZed
to proceed with this w~rk. Roll Call - Al! Ayes.
A Hearing was held on Asphalt Surfacin~ for Polk Stre~et, 41st ~to 43rd.
The City Engineer recommended that this be held up un~il curb & gutte~
is installed.between 42nd and 43rd. ~

Gutter on Polk Street between 42nd and 43rd, for July~ 10, 1956. R~ll Call - ~! Ayes.
A Hearing was held on Curb & Gutter for 47th Avenue, between 6th and 7th Street.
Motion by Julkowski~- seconded by Hosch, that the City~ Manager be authorized to
proceed with this work. Roll Call - All Ayes.

Motion by Hosch seconded by Enutson, that this matter'be referred to the City
Attorney to determine whether there is a majority. RSll Call - All Ayes.
A Petition was received opposing Storm Drain on 39th Avenue.
Motion by Julkowski seconded by Hosch, that this Petition be tabled until the
next meeting, so the Council can study this further a~d the opposition be giv?n
the facts concer~fng this matter. Roll Call - All 'Ayes.
A Petition was received for Curb ahd Asphalt Mat on VAn Buren Street 44th to 45th.
Motion by Hosch seconded by Julkowski, that a Hearing ~be held on July 10th for
this imDrovement. Roll Call - Ail Ayes.
A Petition was received for Concrete Alley between ~Washington and jefferson, from
42nd to 43rd.
Motion by Juikowski, seconded by Hosch, that the City Manager advertise a Hearing
for July 10th, on this ~ork. Roll Call - Ail Ayes.
A Petition was received for improvement of Alley between 5th and 6th Streets,
from 47th to 48th.
Motion by Hosch ~econded by Knutson, that the City Manager be ~nthorized to ad-
vertise a Hearing for July 10th, on this improvement. Roll CaLl - All Ayes.
A Petition was received for sanitary sewers for the following:
3rd Street, 4~th to 45th.
45th Avenue east of Central
Madison St., 45th to 45½
2½ Street - 44th to 45th.
Watermain - 2½ Street, 44th to 45th.
Motion by Julkowski, seconded by Hosch~ bhat the City Manager be ~uthorized to
advertise a Hearing for july 10th on the above improvements. Roll Call - All Ayes.
The matter of paving Alley in Block 5, Reservoir Hills was taken up.
Motion by Hosch seconded by Julkowski, that 'the City Manager be ~anthorized to
proceed with the paving of this alley. Roll Call - Ail Ayes~
Motion by Hosch seconded by Knutson, that the request of John Behun for
abatement of taxes be denied. Roll Call - All Ayes.
Motion by Hosch seconded by Julkowski, that a special mee~ting be se.~ for Monds~,
july 2nd ~at 7:30 P.M., with the Fire Department regarding addition~quipment
requested~by them. Ro~ll Call - All Ayes. ·
Motion by Hosch seconded by Julkowski, that the appointments to various commissions
be held over until the meeting of July lOth. Roll Call - All Ayes.
The matter of o~ening an alley between Madison and Monroe, from 43rd to 4~th
was discussed. The City Manager will investigate this further and see
~h~t can be done about condemning property ~ this alley.
The status of alley in Block 9, Hilltop was discussed and this ~ill have to be
inve sti. gated further.
Second reading of Ordinance No.364, An order authorizing the ~sale by the City
of Col~mbia Heights of certain Real Estate known as that certain part of 38½ Ave.
N.E. as described below: Lying South of Lots i and 2, Block 4, 2nd Subdivision
of Block "F", C.H. Annex.

A request was received by the County Board for Fire protection for unorganized
territory vhich was formerly part of Fridley Township.
Motion by Hosch seconded by Julkowski, that we inform the County Board that we
w~]l temporarily service this unorganized parcel of land. Roll Call - All Ayes.
Motion by Julkowski seconded by Hosch, authorizing the City Manager to proceed
~th the installation of Storm Drain in Block 5, Waltons 1st Subdivision of
Reservoir Hills. Roll Call - All Ayes.

3930 Van Buren St.N.E. for flood damage be turned over to the City Attorney.

Resolution offered by Knutson seconded by Julkowski, The City Council of the
City of Columbia Heights hereby RESOLVES:
RESOLVED: that a sixty foot public right of wa~ be established from McLeod
Street to Reservoir Blvd. for the continuation of 44th Avenue and that the
said extension shall be in line with the existing center lin~ of 44th Avenue
as shown on plats thereof. Roll Call - Ail Ayes.
