Roll Call - All Ayes. The conti4ued Hearing was held oh water and sewer ~tensi~on on ~ummit Street between 5~h Street and Lookout Place. A letter was received f~om Erick Johnson regarding~ these lots on Summit Street. Motion by Julkowski seconded by Hosch, authorimi~ the Cit~ ~ ~z~ager to procee~ with the ~tal!ation of Sewer and Water on Summit Street between 5th Street and Lookout Place, and that the fee owners sign a~ covenant t~ run with the land, tha~t dwellings will not be erected on lots .a~y smaller tha~ 43 feet. Roll Call - All Ayes. ~ A Heari~ was held on oiling of alley between Jackson and Quincy Streets, from 44th. to 45th. · Motion by~ Hosch seconded by Holm, that the Petitio~n for oiling of this alley be tabled. Roll Call - All Ayes. ~ A reques~ was received from Ed. Maciaszek for a pr~ivate watermain to service 4510 and ~4521 Madison Street. Motion b~ Hosch seconded by Knutson, that this r~est be laid on the table. Roll Cal I - All Ayes. A reques~ was received for a private watermain fr~m Kenneth J. Wick, 4527 Madison. Motion b~ Hosch ~sec~nded by Holm, that this request be tabled. Roll Call - All Ayes. A reques~ watermai~ Motion b~ was received from~H.V: Olson, S. Eohnson~ a~d Wm. J. Cart to extend on Lakeview Drive. Knutson, seconded by Julkowski that thi~ request be denied. Roll Call - A reques~ was received for Abatement of penalties ~imposed on special assessments on Lot 8,~ Block 22, Walton,s 2nd Su~odivision. Motion b~ Knutson seconded by Julkowski, that this~ request be turned over to the City Man~er for further investigation, Roll C~!! - Ail Ayes. Second reading of Ordinance No.370, An Ordinance ~roviding for the issuance of $90,000.00 ~&micipal Liquor Store Building Bonds. The Secretary presented an addidavit showing publication in the official newspaper on September 13, 1956, of a Proposed Ordinance No~370 entitled "An Ordinance Providing for the Issuance of $90,000 Municipal L~quor Store Building Bon~.s", which was examined, approved, and ordered filed. The Secretary further reported that said Proposed~Ordinance has remained ~on file in her office for more than one week Prior to this meeting. On Motion made, seconded, a~d carried, said Ordinance was then placed on its second reading, aud was fully and distincly read, Councilman Hosch moved the final passage andI adoption of said Ordinance, which motion was seconded by Councilman Holm, and on vote being taken thereon the following Councilmen voted AYE: Ho!m, Hosch, Julkowski, Knutson, Stopka. and the following voted NO: None whereupon said Ordinance was declared Euly passed and adopted, and was approved and signed by the Mayor and attested by the Secretary. Three letters were received from Earl A. Arneson, Business representative for Local ~664, regarding wages for City employes. Motion by Julkowski seconded by Hosch, that these letters dated September 12th and 13th~ be placed on file. Roll Call - All Ayes. A letter was received from the Highway Department regarding a Flasher Signal at 51st & University. This matter will be taken up with the City Manager of Fridley. Motion by Knutson seconded by Hosch, that this letter from the Highway Department dated September 17, 1956, be placed on file. Roll Call - All Ayes. The City Engineer gave a report on the Lowering of Peters Place and the approximate cost of this project, Motion by Hosch seconded by Holm, that a Hearing be set for the meeting of October 9th, on the low~.ing of Peters Place. Roll Call - ~!l ~es. Motion by Knutson seconded by Hosch, that the matt'er of H~top water be taken from the table. Roll CaLl - All ayes. A special meeting was set for October 8th at 7:30 P.M. ~th the V!~!age of Hilltop. Motion by Holm seconded by Hosch, that the Banister Engineering Oompany be paid the sum of $2500.00, out of the proper funds. Resolution offered by Holm seconded by Hosch, B~ 7T HEREBY KESOLVE~ by the City Council of the City of Columbia Heights, that the City Treasurer be and she is hereby instructed'to transfer from the Liquor Fund as follows: $1,296.67 to the Fire Fund 581.81 to the Library Fund and that there are sufficient moneys in said Liquor Fund to make such transfer. Roll Call - Holm~ Hosch, Knutson,Stopka Hilltop V~_llage Officials aud interested parties were present ~nd discussed v&th the Columbia Heights City Council the matter of continuing to supply water to Hilltop V~]~]~age residents.~ The matter of annexLug to Col~nbia Heights was also discussed.
