Motion by Julkowsk. i seconded by Knutson, that this request be granted upon
payment of the fproper fee. Roll Call - All Ayes.

Motion by Holm seconded by Hosch, that this request be gr~nted upon payment of

Motion by Hosch seconded by Hol~ authorizing the City Manager .to ,draw up an Agreement
to be negotiated with the Village of Fridley on th~eciprocal use of hydrants in

A letter was receiwed from Mayh~ ]1 Builders requesting sewer and ,water for 381~,
3820, 3824 and 3828 - 3rd St. N.E. ,
Motion by Hosch ,seconded by Julkowski~ that this letter dated December 28th, be
placed en file. roll Gall - All ~Ayes. ~
A lette~ was received from the Secreta~y of the Columbia ,Heights Fire Department
regardimg a First Aid Truck.
Motion ~y Julkowski seconded by Hosch, that this letter dated January 4~h,be laid
on the %able. Roll Call - ~_1 Ayes.
A lette~ was received from the Secretary of the olumbia Heights Fire Department
regarding the Fire Civil Service Commission.
Motion by Hoscb seconded by Holm, authorizing the City Manager to send copies of
this letter to each member of the Fire Civil Service Commission. Roll Call - All Ayes.
A letter was received~from the Village of Edina regarding gas rates.
Motion by Hosch seconded by Holm, that we inform them that we are interested
in the gas problem. Roll Call - AL1 Ayes,
A letter was received from Muriel K'~mng, Chairman of the Hi1 ~top Committee for
Supervised Play, inviting the City ~ouncil to attend the ~ dedication of the
Hilltop Park Recreation Building on saturday, January 14th.
Motion by Hosch seconded by Julkowski, that this letter dated January 6th, be
placed on file. Roll 0sl! -~11 Ayes.
Resolution offered by Hosch seconded by Holm, The City Council of the City of
Columbia Heights hereby resolves that the Columbia Heights State Bank be hereby
designated as a depository for moneys of-~the City of Columbia Height~, for~a period of one
year beginning the 1st day of January,, 1956, and~'the Treasurer of this City is hereby direc~
directed to deposit moneys of this city in said bank and the Columbia Heights State
Ba~k is hereby authorized and ~rected to honor and pay any checks or orders, when
signed by the City Treasurer, for the withdrawall or transfer of funds on deposit
in said Bank in whatever form.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that in case such deposits shall at any time exceed Ten
Thousand~ ($10,000.00) Dollars, said depository shall ~mmediately furnish bond or
securities in lieu of bond according to law, and the Marquette National Bank is
hereby desigma~ed as a place for the safe-keeping of all securities furnished in
lieu of such bond. Roll Call - All Ayes.
Resolution offered by Holm seconded by Julkowski, The City Council of the City of
Columbia Heights hereby RESOLVES that the First National Bank of Minneapolis be
hereby designated as a depository for moneys, of the City of Columbia Heights for
a period of one year beginning the ls~ day of January, 1956, and the Treasurer of this
City is hereby directed to deposit moneys of this City in said bank and the First
National Bank of Minuea~olis is hereby authorized and directed to honor and pay
any checks ~ orders, when signed by the City Treasurer, for the withdrawal or
transfer of ihxuds on deposit in said Bank in whatever for~.

Columbia HEEEBY RESOLVES that the Fidelity State Bank be hereby designated as a de-
pository for moneys of the City of Columbia Heights for a period of one year beginning
the 1st day of January, 1956, and the Treasurer of this City is hereby directed to
deposit moneys of this City in said bank and the Fidelity State Bank is hereby
authorized and directed to honor and pay any. checks or orders, when signed by the
City Treasurer, for the withdrawal or transfer of funds on deposit in said Bank
in whatever form.

and directed to strike from the assesament~ rolls the aforesaid assessments.

Resolution offered by Holm seconded by Hosch, the City Council of the City of
Columbia Heights hereby resolves that V~EKEAS, Special Assessments for Lots 18
and 19, Block 49, Co!.Heights Annex on Jobs No.201 an~ 202 in the smount of
$25.00 and $16.28 have been paid in full;

Mr. Dahl presented a platt for part of t~r~- o~_~' ~ Fridley Township.
The Municipal Building wLll be discussed at the special meeting January 18 or 19.
An Amendment to the existing Ordinance will be made for the proposed truck
routes within the City of Col~mbia Heights.

Special Meeting
Meeting called to order at 11:30 A.M.
January 14, 1956
Ail members present.
The purpose of this meeting~is to study some of the phases of the report
of the State Public Examiner.
In view of this ~repoE~t '
The Mayor asked zor the dismissal of both Fedorka and Drangeid.
The City Manager stated he had already taken care of this matter ~day and
suspended both of these' men ~ntil such time as determined by the court,
and that Jack Roach was put in charge until other arrangements could be made.
The State Public Examiner,s letter was read to the audience, by the Mayor.
Councilman Julkowski complained that the City Manager had sent hi~ a letter
dated Decembe~ 30, 1955, asking that he, Julkowski, forward to him certain ·
infbrmation he was purported to have regarding Llligal practices at the
Nuhicipal Liquor Store, ~ that proper action could be taken.

~otion by Julkowski, that in view of ~some Sf these facts, that Ray Ernest~
be ~suspended 'and relieved from his duty as City Manager.
Maybr Stopka relinquished the chair and seconded this Motion.
