Minutes of the last regular and special meetings were read and approved.
Resolution offered by Julkowski, seconded by Holm, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED by the
City Council of the City of Col~ubia Heights, that in all future notifications for
a Special Meeting of the City doun..cil called by the City~anager,. Mayor or ~ember
of the Council, twelve hours written notice shall be given prior to the meeting and
such notice shall be given the Police Department for delivery. Roll Call -All Ayes.
Motion by Holm seconded byHosch, that the following bi]!s be paid out of their

Motion by Holm seconded by Hosch, that the request of Richard Cornell, 4846 4th
Street N.Eo for Sewer connection, be denied. Roll Call -,All Ayes.
Petition was received for Concrete Curb on Johnson Street, 37th to 39th Avenues.
Notion by Hos6h seconded by Holm, that this petition be laid on the table ~util
the secondameeting of February 1956. Roll Call -All Ayes.~
Recommendation by Planning Commission for re-zoning for Commercial purposes,
Lots 3 to 6 inclusive, Block 2, Rearg.t. of Block A. continued until further study.
Request was received from the ~Vilkinson Co. to reconsider cancellation of sub division Bond
Bond. Notion by Hosch seconded by Julkowski~ that more detailed information be
obtained on assessments still due in this area. Roll Call - All Ayes.
A report was made on progress of extension of bus servi~ce - Johnson, Hayes & 39th
Avenue, but nothing has developed up to t~he present time.
First reading of Ordinance No.355, Ordinance No.355 being an Ordinance annexing
to the City of Columbia Heights the Plat known as Gillett's Annex to Columbia

assessment roll the following local i~provements hereinbefore described, and that
said assessment roll shall be hereafter kno.wn and designated as "Assessment Roll for
Local Lmprovement Nos. 260, 261~ 262,263,26[, 265,266,267 and 268.
Section l~Y. That said assessment shall be payable in smnual installments for a
period of from one to eight years on or before the first day of June in each of the
years fro, 1916 to 1963, vgth ~mterest and penalties as provided by law.
Section V. That this Council does hereby determine and re-determine to
proceed with said improvements, does ratify and confirm eJ41 other proceedings here-
tofore had in that regard, ~nd said improvement shall hereafter be known and numbered
as "Local Improvement Nos. 260, ~61, 262,263,264,265,266,267 and 268,
Section VI. This resolution shall t~e effect immediately upon its passage.

Resolution offered by Hosch seconded by Holm, BE IT HEPEBY RESOLVED by the City O~uncil
of the City of Columbia Heights that the City Treasurer be and she is hereby ~structed
to transfer from the liquor Fund as follows:
$62.02 to the Police & Court~ Fund

and that there are sufficient moneys in said Liquor Fund to make such transfer.

Columbia Heights hereby resolves that Yf~EREAS, Special Assessments for Lot 4,
Block 10, ~,?alton's 2nd Subdivision on Jobs No.200, 23~ and 256 in the amounts of
~39.08, $16.50 ~nd ~166.2~ have been'paid in full;

and directed to strike from the assessment rolls the aforesaid assessments.

paid in full; BE IT THERE?ORE RESOLVED that the County Auditor be ~nd he is
hereby authorized and directed to str~_ke from the assessment rolls the aforesaid

Columbia Heights h~reby resolved that ~tEEEAS, Special Assessments for Lot 29 exc.

$120.96 have been paid in full;
BE IT T.wJEREFORE PESOLVED that ~the County Auditor be and he is hereby authorized

and .$16.25 have been paid in full;

Chef Herringer and others made protest to the method of construction being used
for the new Liquor Store and thought this matter shoed be looked into.

Ray Ernest, City Manager reported to have contacted the Chief Inspector of the
City of Einneapolis~_~that be would have to think it over and call back
Thursday morning at $ A.~ regarding inspection of the Liquor Store construction.
It was decided if the 5[inneapolis City Inspector wi~! not give us advice,
should ~et ad~_ce from some private concern.
