Councilman Holm acted as Chairman. Minutes of the last regular mud speeial meetings were read and approved. Moti~on by Hosch secosded by Julkowski, that the 6ity Manager be authorized to proc~eed with the ope~ning of this ~lley in Block 9, upon obtainment o£ the nece~ssary easements? Motion by Julkowski sedonded by Knutson, that the attorney write a letter to the parties concerned in an effort to obtain easements, and if no results are forthceming, that he proceed with condemnation. Thursday, ~13th to consider Mr. Arneson's request for wage Lucreases and for working on the bridget. Roll Call - All Ayes. Motion by Hosch seeonded by Knutson, that the bill of Ralph D. Thomas & Assoc.,~c. for $208.87, be paid out of ~he preper funds. Roll Call - All Ayes. Motion by Knutson, seconded by Julkowski, that the bill~ of Hartse & Schneider in the amounts of $233.70 and $1,085.10 be paid out of the proper fund. Roll CaLl -Yll Ayes. Motion by Hosch seconded by Julkowski, that~Sebco Co. be paid the sum of $14,613.87 out of the proper funds. ~oll Call - AIl Ayes. Motion by Julkowski seconded by Knutson~ that Montgomery Construction Co. be paid the sum of $4~512.~2 out of the proper funds. Roll Call - All Ayes. Motion by Hosch seconded ~y Kuutson, that Art Bolier be paid the sum of $1.875.27 out of the proper f~ds. Roll call - All Ayes. Petitions were received for annexation to Columbia Heights, from Gillette Annex and Sheffield Acres. Motion by Julkowski, seconded by Hosch, that the City ~anager be instruction to check the validity of the signatures on these petitions requesting annexation to Columbia Height. Roll Call - All Ayes. Resolution offered by Hosch seconded by Knutson, The City Council of the City of Columbia Heights hereby resolves that ~H~EAS, Special Assessments for Lots 22 smd 23, Block 2, Ros~ Roslyn Park Addition, on jobs No.203 and 257 in the amounts of $27.00 and $132.48 have been paid in full; BE tT THEREFORE RESOLVED that the County Auditor be and he is hereby authorized and directed to strike from the assessment rolls the ~foresAid assessments. Resolution offered by Kuutson seconded by Julkowski, The City Council of the City of Columbia Heights hereby resolve~ that WHEREAS, Special assessments for Lot 32, Block 87, Col.Heights Annex on job No.248 in the amount of $6.40 ~ave been paid in fu~l; BE IT THEREFO~E RE~0LVED that the County Auditor be and he is hereby authorized and directed to strike from the assessment rolls the aforesaid assessments. Roll C~11 - All Ayes. . Motion by Hosch seconded by Enutson, that the Petition requesting the opening of al!~y betwee~ 2 and 2~ Streets from 37th to 38th, be returned to M~. Dory for additional signatures. Roll Call - All Ayes. A letter was received from, the Police Department regarding ~he Hennepin County Police and Peace ~fficers Assoc. Regional Training session to be held October 17th to 21st, and asking permission to send as many men as possible to this training session. Motion by Hosch seconded by Kuutson, that this request be tak~ up at the special meeting of October 13th. Roll Call- All ~yes.
