Hearing on paving of alley in Block 5, Hilltop 2. ~
Motion by Jmlkowski seconded by Hosch, authorizing~the City Manager~to proceed with
the installation of this alley paving. Roll Call - A3~! Ayes.
Hearing on Watermain installation on 2nd Street be%ween 44th and 45th Avenues.
Motio~ by Enutson seconded ,by Julkowski, authorizing the City Manager to proceed with
the installation of this watermain. Roll Call - All Ayes. ~
Hearing on sidewalk east side of 6th Street betweem 45th and 46th Awnues.
Motiom by Julkowski seconded by Hosch, that the City Eanager be authorized to
proceed with thi~ work. Roll Call - All Ayes.
Motion by Hosch seconded by Knutson, that the bid ef Walbon ~cavating Co. be
accepted for the instalMbion of water on 2nd Street smd Water and Sewer on Jackson
S~reet, at a cost of $8,637.25. Roll Call - All Ayes.
S~cond reading of Ordinance No.351, Being an OrdLnance vacating that part of the
east-wsst alley from Jackson Street to the westerly line of the North-South Alley
of Block Sixty (60) Columbia Heijhts Annex to Minneapolis.

A letter was received from the Fire Department ahd~ a meeting was set to meet-with
them at 8 P.M. Friday, September 16th.
Notion by Hosch seconded by Julkowski, that the letter from th~ Fire Department dated
September 7th, be placed on file. Roll Call - All Ayes.
A letter was received from the ?olice Department asking to meet with the Council.
Eotion by Hosch seconded by Julkowski, that a budget ~eeting be set with the

The request for Sewer on Jobmson and Polk Streets was discussed and continued until
bhe ne~t meeting.
A Petition was received for the opening of a!leybetween 2½ and 2nd Streets from
37th to 38th Avenue.

for the opening of this Alley. ~ Roll Call - ~.~ Ayes.
A Petition was received for Concret C,~rb and Bituminous Surfacing of Quincy Street
between 44th and 45th A~nues.. ~

for this concrete curb and surfacing. Roll Call - All Ayes.

VanBgren and Eackson Streets.

A Petition was received for the annexation of Fridley Tovmship to Columbia P~ights.
This will be discussed at the next regular meeting.
A Petition was received for sewer and water on Arthur Street from 41st to 4~nd
Avenue.
Motion by Hosch seconded by Knutson, that a~Hearing be set for October~llth, for
sewer and water on Arthur Street, ~u!st to 43rd .Avenue. Roll Call -~ll Ayes.
A Burglar Alarm System for the new Liquor Store was discussed ~nd this was
referred to the City Eanager and a report to be brought back to the next meeting.
Notion by Julkowski seconded by Hosch, that the ~City Eanager be authorized to
advertise for bids to move the dirt on the new parking lot recently purchased
from the Columbia Heights State Bank. Roll Call - All Ayes~
A meeting was set for September 29th at 7:30P~o meet with ~r. Arneson, Union
representative .~
A request'was received from Mrs. Koehler, 4820 6th St. N.E. to operate a Beauty
Parlor in her home.

ation of the Planning Commission. Roll Call - All Ayes.
R~solution offered by Hosch seconded by Enutson, The City Council of the City of
C~lumbia Heights hereby ~resolves that, WHEREAS, Special Assessments for Lot 30, Block
Columbia Heighta Annex on Job No.235, 246 and 250 in the ~mounts of $14.00, $1~9.36
and $28.38 have been paid in full;
BE IT THEREFORE RESOLVED that the County Auditor be and he is hereby authorized and
directed to strike from the assessne~t rolls the aforesaid assessments.
