o£ existing platted lots in the residential district, no buildihg site shall be
less than 50 feet in width, such width shall be determined by measurements taken
at right angles to both side lot lines. Section 2. This Ordinance shall take
effect and be in force immediately after its passage. Ordinance offered by

Resolution offered by Deeble seconded by Hosch, WHEREAS: The City of Columbia Heights,
did on the 23rd day of Ma~, 1955, conduct and hold a Primary Nunicipal Election for
the purpose of numinating candidates for City Offices to be voted on at a General
Municipal Election; and,
WHEREAS: The City Council of the City of Columbia Heights, at a meeting of said
Council held on the 24th ds~ cT Ms~, 1955, ~did canvass the returns and results
said Primary Municipal Election; and.

A Hearing was held on vacating 38~ Avenue, in 2nd Subdivision of Block F.
First reading of Ordinance No.340, being an ordinance vacating that part of 38½ Avenue
N.E. from the east line of Jefferson Street N.E. to the west line of the north -
south alley of Block 84 C.H. Annex.

Subdivision of Block "F" Columbia Heights Annex of Minneapolis described below:
Beginning at a point Four Hundred and fifty feet (450) west of the
N.E. corner of the above named tract and contin~!og ia a westerly line
parallel to the south line of block four (4) of the above named sub-
division for a distance of one hundred (100) feet, more or less, thence
at right'angles in a southerly ~rection for a distance of 156 ~eet,
more or less, thence at right angle in an easterly direction for a dis-

A Petition was received for the installation of a Street Light at 44th and Stinson.
Motion by Hob seconded .b7 Knutson, that the City Manager authorize the installation
of this street light at 4hth and Stinson Blvd. Roll Call - All Ayes.
Motion by Deeble secpnded by Hosch, that the claim for damage due to a sewer block
be turned over to the City Attorney. Roll Call - ~31_ Ayes.
Motion by Deeble ~seconded by Hosch, that the claim of Russell Annis for damage to
a yar~ light, be turned over to the City Attorney. Roll Call - All Ayes.
A special ~meeting was set for Thursday, June 2nd, to meet with the B~oni~ter
Engineering Co. regarding a water survey.
A letter was received from the League of Minnesota Municipalities regarding their
convention to be held in Albert Lea, Minnesota on june 8,9,and 10.
Motion by Hosch seconded by Knutson, that the expenses be allowed for those
attending this convention. Roll Call - All Ayes.
A letter .wss received from the Police Department regarding their convention
to be held at Hibbing, Minnesota on June 20 and 21, and asking that expenses
be paid to send two men.
Motion by Deeble seconded by Holm, authorizing the emp enses of the Police Department
t~o attend the Police Convention and also the League of ~&innesota Municipalities
~onventi0n. Roll Call - All Ayes.
A letter was received from the Activities Committee. regarding the Rarade to be
held during the Jamboree.
Motion by Holm seconded by Hosch, that the request of the Activities Committee
regarding the parade be granted. Roll Call - All Ayes.
Motion by Holm seconded by Hosch, that the matter of the sale of the Post Office
building be. taken from the table. Roll Call - All Ayes.
First reading of Ordinance No.342, An Ordinance authorizing the sale by the City
of Columbia HeiEhts of certain real estate known as Lot 5, Block 62, Columbia
Heights Annex, Anoka County, Minnesota.
Resolution offered by Hosch seconded by Holm, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED by the City
Council of the City of Columbia Heights that the City Treasurer be and she is hereby
instructed to transfer from the Liquor Fund as follows:
$1,836.~5 to the Police & Court Fund
1,103.49 to the Fire
4,008.31 to the Street .,
372.35 to the Library
a~d that there are sufficient moneys in said liquor fund to make such tra~.~fer.
