A request was received from Walter Reinhar~ for expenses incurred for Civil
Defens~ instructions.

Manager and at lesst t~o members of the City Co~cil to meet with the problem of
proper construction on Centrst Avenue.

Resolution offered by Holm, secodded by Hosch, WHEREAS the City Council of the City
of Columbia Heights did on June 2, 19~h pass a re~olution entering into a contract
with the State of Minnesota, same being Dept. of Administration Contract No. 1-898,
Minnesota Highway Dept. Agreement No. C-1~78, S.P~ N~ 02-07-08 and WHEREAS the
said City' did rely on verbal assurance of Mr. Burns, an engineer of the State
Highway Department that the construction South of ~Otb Avenue N.E. would be similar
to that North ~f ~Oth Avenue N.E., and ~HEREAS verbal agreement was reached as to
openings of center island on said highway North of ~Oth v~ere deemed necessar~y and
essential, and ~E~EAS the State Highway Department a~ this ti~e refuses to meet
the needs of the co~unity in such center island openings South of h0th Avenue N.E.
