Niuutes of the last regular meeting and special meeting were read and approved with the exeeption of the entry stating a meeting v~s set for 6 P.p. June 3rd, sho~uld have read a.demonstration was set for that date. ~lso the convention of the League of Ein~esota ~unicipalities should have included June 9th. , ~otion.by Holm seconded by Deeble~ that the action.taken at the Special ~eeting of June 2nd be confirmed. Bids range from $1,756.23 to $3,'466.52, Anderson Motors International Harvester Bob Knowles H.J. M4uar including the ~trade in of ~a used city truck~ Motion ~y Deeble s~econde~d by Hosch, that these bids on dump trucks be turned over to the City Manager for tabulation. Roll Csll - All Ayes. Regarding the bids ~or a st~reet sweeper, the Mayor s%ated he thought we should hold off buyihg this for ano%her year as .the city was badl~ in need of other things such as a wading pool, recreation equipment., etc. Mayor Stopka relinguished the chair and made a motion ~that the bids on a street sweeper ~be rejected. This motion lost for the lac~ of a second. Motion by Deeble seconded by HQlm, ~that the City Mansger be authorized to purchase the Wayne Street Sweeper from %he Rosholt Equipment CO. at $9,537.50. Roll Call - All Ayes. Motion ~ Hosch seconded by Knutson$~ that the bid of ~.J. McNulty, Inc. for sidew ~a~ks at 335 per sq. foot be accepted. Roll Call - All Ayes. A Hearing was held for Curbing on 41st Avenue from Q~ncy to 4th Street. Motion by Deeble seconded by Holm, authorising this work to commence. ~Roll ~all - All Ayes. A lette= was received from the Library Board recommending that ¥~s. Nick Munsc~, H.C. Nelson and Mrs. B.T. Russell be re-sppointed to ~he Libr~ary Board effective July lst,1954 for a three year term. Motion by Deeble seconded by Knutson, ~conc ~urring withjthis recommendation. Roll CaLl - All Ayes. Motion by Holm seconded by Hosch, that the City Atto~ey prepare an easement to be ready at the next meeting granting the Village of Fri~ley permi~ssion to instal~ part of their water metering.station in 45th Avenue N.E. ~Roll Call - All Ayres, Motion by Knutson seconded~by Deeble, that the letterl received from the Le~ague of Women Voters dated June 3rd, be placed on fLle. Roll CaLl - 411 Ayes. A Petition was received for a water main extension on. ~ui~cy St. N.E. sputh of 45th Avenue. Motion by Deeble seconded, by~Holm, that th~s Petitio~ be tabled.~ Roll Call ~ll Ayes. ~oti~n by Hosch seconded by Deeble, that.the City E~ager be authoriz~e~d to advertise for bids on repairing the traffic signal at 40th and Dentral.
