Regular meeting
Meeting called to order at 8 P.M~
September 22, 1953
Ail members present.
Miuutes of the last regular and special meetings were read and approved ~ith the
exception, that the letter ~hich was printed in the Minutes of the September 8th
meeting received from Dorsey, Colmau, Barker, Scott & Barber, was read at the
meeting of August 25th.
Motion by Deeble seconded by Holm, that the following bills be paid out of their
proper funds: Roll Call - All Ayes.

Motion by Deeble seconded by Holm, that the Platt of Anderson,s First Addition
be accepted. Roll Call - All Ayes.
Motion by Deeble seconded by Knutson, thst the letter from the Minneapolis Gas
Company dated September llth, be placed on file. Roll Call - ~11 Ayes.
A letter was received from the Columbia Heights Park Board asking for a meeting
~ith the Council.
Motion by De.bi. seconded by Holm, that a Special Meeting be held with the Park
Board to discuss the budget on Thursday, October 8th at 7:30 P.M. Roll Call - Ail Ayes.
A legter was received from the Village of Forest Lake regarding the Regional Meet!ng
to be held there October 1st and inviting the Mayor and City Council to attend.
A letter w~s received from the Columbia Heights Chamber of Commerce, stating
there is a mandatory need for a foot Patrolman at various intervals on Frida~
and Saturday.

Union representative, regarding the pay of one of the Park Employes, dated
Septenber 22nd, be placed on the tshle. Roll ~Call - All Ayes.
An ~ppointment was received from Mayor Stopka to the Police Civil Service
Oommission of Stanley M' Zdon, 4203 Madison St. N.E.
Motion by Knu~son seconded by Hob, acCept~-ng the appointment of the Mayor
to the Police Civil ~e~ice Commission. Roll Call - All Ayes.
Resolution offered by Hob seconded by Hosch, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED by the
City Co~uncil of the City ~ Columbia Heights, that Check No.2403 be cancelled.
Roll Call - All Ayes.
Motion by Holm seconded by Hosch, that Tabaka Plbg. & Heating Co. be paid
$172.00. Roll Call - All Ayes.
Motion by Holm seconded by Deeble, to taka from the table the matter of the
Assessors salary. Roll Call - All Ayes.
Resol'~tion offered by Holm seconded by Deeble, BE IT ~Y RESOLVED by the
City Council of the City of Columbia Heights, that the Assessors Salary be
set at the rate of $[~O0.00 per year effective October 1,19~3. Roll Call -

A Petition was received for Curb & Gutter on 6th 'Street between 49th and 50th.
Motion by Deeble seconded by Hosch,. authorizing the installation of curb &
gutter on 6th street between 49th and 50th. Roll Call ~ All Ayes.
