Special Meeting
July 29, 1952
Meeting called to order at 7:35 P.M. All members present.
This meeting is for the purpose of awarding bids on Bituminous materal in Hilltop
~l and 2 and to hold a hearing on the Second Street Area storm sewer.
Motion by Deeble seconded by Holm, to accept the bid of Bury & Carlson for Bithnninous
Mat at $1.80 S.Y. for Hilltop ~1. Roll Call - ~!! Ayes.
Motion by Hob seconded by Spekulant, to accept the bid of Bury & Carlson for
Bituminous ~Mat at $1.80 S.Y. aud Rolled curb at $.44 L.F. in Hilltop ~2. Roll
C~ll - ~l ~ Ayes.
A hearing was held on the Second Street Area Storm sewer
Motion by Holm seconded by Lange, that Ferrin & Company be instructed to go ahead
with the inst~llation of the Second Street Area Storm Sewer. Roll C~1 ] - ~1]~ Aye~
Motion by Deeble secp~ded by Lange, that Prof. Wise be ret~ed as the consulting
engineer for the Second Street Area Storn Sever at the fee of 2~. Roll Call -

All members present.
Minutes of the last regular and special meetings were read and approved.
Motion by Deeble seconded by Spekulaut, authorizing the payment of expenses
for those attending the Safety Conference at Duluth August . Roll Call - All Ayes.
Bids were received from the following firms for Walk ~ Cooler for the Liquor Stor~:

No.3 Automatic Refrigeration, Inc. 3,580.00 (Metal floor

Motion by D~eble seconded by Spekulant to turn these bids over to the City Manager
~or tabulation. Roll Call - Ail Ayes.
A Hearing was held on the Petition for Permanent street on 42nd Avenue between
Reservoir Blvd. and Arthur Street N.Eo No one was present that objected to
this work being done.
Notion by Holm seconded by Lange authorizing the work on this permanent Mat
on 42nd Avenue to go ahead. Roll Call - All Ayes.
Eotion by Deeble seconded by Spekulant, setting August 26th as a Hearing for the
Petition for Curb and Gutter on Tyler Street between 39th and 40th. Roll Call - All Ayes.

and Sanitation ~nsDector. Roll Call - All Ayes.
A PetZtion was received for a paved alley between Eadison and Jefferson, from 40 th

The Nayor announced a recess of ten minutes at this time.

of the Contractor up6n receipt of Wilkinson's Performance Bonds for Hilltop #2.

A letter was received from the Columbia Heights Central Avenue Business & Professional
t~en' s Assoc. regarding ~he parking situation in the business district and the City
Manager vas instructed to arran.ge a meeting with them.

Meeting for the purpose of discussing the. City Manager position.
