A letter was received from the Activities Committee, asking for permission to
use~'~certain streets for a parade on June 2Oth.

June Jamboree be turned over to the City Manager to be discussed at the meeting
~ednesday evening June llth, and his recommendation be brought back to the June

Firemen to attend the Convention to be held at Pequot Lakes on June 9,1~ and llth.

A letter was received from Wm. F. Singer of the Heights Cab Co~ stating he is
installing new meters in his cabs and asks that a new rate be established.
Resolution offered by Lange seconded by Deeble, HE IT RESOLVED by the City
Council of the City of Columbia Heights~ that the following Taxicab rates
be put d_uto effect:
35~ for the first ½ ~lile and 10~ for each additional ½ Mile

for Storm Sewer construction in the City of Columbia Heights. Roll Call - Ail Ayes.

a Public Hearing on a Storm Sewer in the alley between jackson and Quincy Streets

for bids on the Post Office building, subject to the lease. Roll Call - All Ayes.
Motion by Holm seconded by Deeble, extending the present Off-Sale Beer Licenses
to December 31, 1952 at the regular rate. Roll Call - a13 Ayes.
Motion by Deeble seconded by Spekul~nt, that our Street Mechanic he paid for two
weeks vacation in 1950 and one v~ek in 1951, at straight time, at the rate that
existed at that time. Roll Call - All Ayes.
Motion by Spek~lant seconded by Deeble, authorizing the City Manager to advertise
for bids on a truck for the Street Department. Roll Call - All Ayes.
Motion by Deeble seconded by Holms. granting a Restaurant license to Mrs. George
Osborne, 4003 5th Street. Roll Call - All Ayes.
Motion ~y Lange seconded by Deeble, authorizing the~ City Manager to ~dvertise for
bids on Bituminous mat in Hilltop. Roll Call - All Ayes.
Motion by Holm seconded by Deeble, authorizing the City Manager to advertise for
bids on Gravel. Roll Call - All Ayes.
Resolution offered by Deeble seconded by L~nge, RESOLVED, that we hereby designate
the First National Bank of Minneapolis as a depository for moneys of this City for
a period ~f seven months, beginning the 1st d~y of June, 1952, and the Treasurer of this
C~ity. is hereby directed to deposit moneys of this city in said bank; and the said First
National Bank of Minneapolis is here~y authorized and directed to honor s~ud pay any
checks or orders, ~hen signed by the Treasurer, for the withdrawal or transfer of
funds on deposit in said Bank in whatever form.
BE iT FURTHER RESOLVED, That in case such deposits shall at any time exceed Ten
Thousand ($10,000.00) Dgllars, said depository shall immediately furnish bond or
r securities in lieu of Bond according to law, and the Federal Reserve Bank of
Minneapolis, Minnesota, is hereby designated as a place for the safekeeping of
all securities furnished in lieu of such bond.

on Seal Coating. Roll Call - All Ayes.
Second reading of Ordinance No.304, Being an Ordinance amending Ordinance No.171,
being an Ordinance for the purpose of promoting Health, Safe~ty, Order, Convenience
and General Welfare, by regulating the use of l&nd, the location and the use of
buildings and the arrangement of building lots, and the density of population in
the City of Columbia Heights. Lots lO to 15 inclusive. Block 21, 6olumbia Heights
Annex to Minneapolis.

on 7th Street between 45th and 47th f~r Sanitary Sewer, be turned over to the City
Manager and a report brought back to the july 8th meeting. Roll Call - All Ayes.
Motion by~Deeble seconded by Lahge, se~ting the regular meeting of July 8th as
a Public Hearing for the following effected area:
Permanent Tarvia and establish grade~ abd levels on 42nd Avenue between
Reservoir Blvd and Arthur Street N.E., also Curb & Gutter.
