Ray Dziuk appeared requesting permission to live in a basement home at 42.51 WAshington.
Permission granted on condition an agreement is signed guaranteeing house is completed
by November 1,1951, or parties ~acate.
Motion by Lange, seconded by Trench, that a sign "Dead End Street" measuring three
by four feet with luminous paint~ be erected on the south side of ~lst Ave.on the ~
east side of the alley running east of and parallel to Central Ave. Roll Call - All Ayes.
Eotion by Yencho, seconded by Spekulant to instruct County Auditor to abate
$200.00 on sewer project #206 for Lots 6 & ? Block 12 Walton's 2nd Sub. of

Re'quest for water on Washington Street from ~th to ~Sth to be taken up at
special council meeting Nay 15 together with other similar projects.

Resolution offered by Trench, seconded by Spekulant, The City Council of the
City of Columbia Heights hereby resolves that, Whereas, Special Assessments
for Lot One (1) exc. Westerly ~0 ft. Block Thirteen (13) Walton's Second Sub-
division on Job No. 200 in the amount of $23~.~8 have been paid in full;
HE IT THEREFORE RESOLVED that the County Auditor be and he is hereby authorized

OFFICIAL PROCEEDINGS
Special Meeting
May. 15, 1951
A Special meeting of the City Council was held Tuesday evening, May 15, 1951, with
Mayor Prestemon presiding, and all members of the council ~present.
Motion by Spekulant, seconded by Lange, that bids be called for on the installation
~of water main on Washington street, between 44th and 45th 'Avenues, as soon as plans and
specifications are completed by the city engineer. Roll Call - All Ayes.
Installation of sanitary sewer on Cleveland Avenue between 41st and 42nd A~enues was
discussed following a renewal petition requesting the improvement. The city engineer
was instructed to draw up plans and ~pecifications, and estimate cost of the project.
Motion by La~e, seconded by Spekulant, that the followin~improvements 0nwhich
hearings were previously held, be authorized for the coming season.
