Motion by Lange seconded by Spekulant, that they acknowledge proper notice of Special Meeting to. be held by the City Council of the City of Columbia Heights Friday, March 30, 1951. Roll CaLl - ~11 Ayes. Second reading of Ordinance No. 277, An Ordinance declaring a certain tract, piece or parcel of land to be an addition to the City of Columbia Heights. Ordinance No. 277 offered by Lange seconded by Spekulant. Roll Call - All Ayes. ~man Smith, Attorney for the Village of Fridley also several residents of Fridley ~re present and protested the passing of this Ordinance. It was agreed to hold a special meeting with both Councils present, on April llth, at 8 P.M. at Columbia Heights City Office. Motion by Yencho seconded by Lange, that the charges for new services in the water department be as follows: Stop Box $12.00 Curb Stop 8.00 Corp. Cock 3.50 5/8" Meter 27.00 Meter Connections 1.50 Tapping Charge 10.00 $62.00 Roll Call - All Ayes. Motion by Lange seconded by Spekulant, that the following Resolution be adopted: Be it Resolved by the City Council of the City of Columbia Heights that the rates paid for the operation of heavy equipment in the Street Department be increased six cents per hour. Roll Call - Trench, Spekulant, Yencho and Minutes of the two special meetings and last regular meetings w~re read and approved. Bids were opened for a Bar Extension at the Liquor store from the following: No.1 H. Conrad Mfg. Co. No.4 Baxter Co. Duluth No.2 ~.R. Jones Fixture Co. No.5 Joe F. Phalen No.3 L. Paulle-Midway Motion by Trench seconded by Yencho to turn these bids over to the City Nanager for tabulation. Roll Call -~All Ayes. Notion by Spekulant seconded by Trench to accept the bid of the Rosehill Nursery for trees in Hitltcp Addition. Roll Call - All Ayes. Motion by Yencho seconded by Spekulant to accept the bid of the Mack Truck Co. for a new Fire Truck at the bid price and terms. Roll Call - All Ay~s. A Petition was received against installing Water on Washington Street ~between 43rd and 44th Avenue. Motion by Trench seconded by Spekulant, .to call for bids onsewer on 3rd street between 3?th and 38th Avenue - 38th Avenue from 3rd to 2½ street and water on 3rd Street between 3?th and 38th Avenue. Roll Call - All Ayes. Bids on the White Bay Lighting w~re received from the following: No.1 Langford Electric Co. No.2 RonningElectric Co. No.3 Kehne Electric Co., Inc. Motion by Spekulant seconded by Trench , that these ~ids be turned o~er to the City.Manager for tab~ation. Roll Call - All Ayes. A request was made for sewer on Cleveland between 41st and 42nd and they were asked to get a new Petition circulated. A Petition was received for an alley between 5th and 6th Streets from 45th to 46th rAvenue . They were informed an easement would have to be received from 100% of the property owners. Resolution offered by Trench seconded by Spekulant,~ THAT the city of Columbia Heights grant to Ralph Greene and Associates, an option for a period of two years from the date hereof, to use Lot 14, Block 9 in Hilltop addition for Com- mercial purposes, provided the same does not confict~ with use of said lot for City ~Water Tower. Firs~ reading of Ordinance No.278. The City ~f Columbia Heights does Ordain, Se~mtton one~ that it shall be unlawful to attach literature on any posts or poles or Public buildings within the city of Columbia Heights. ~ Said Ordinance shall take ~ffect 30 days after its passage. The Mayor appointed John Yencho to the Park Board to, replace Henry Dykhiuszen and HarOld Anderson Re-appointed on the Zoning Commission. Motion by Trench seconded by Spekulant, to concur with the Nayors Appointments. Roll Call -Ail Ayes. Motion by Trench seconded by Spekulant, to pay 90% of the Holm Co. contract at the Liquor Store on approval of the Architects. Roll Call - Ail Ayes. ResOlution qffered by Trench seconded ~by Yencho, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY of Columbia Heights hereby resolves that: WHEREAS; Special Assessment No.l17 le~ied against the North 180 ft. of Lot 1, Block III Walton's Sunny Acres 4th be stricken from the above description, and it is further resolved that the assessment for the years 1951 and 1952 amounting to $24.94 and $24.58 respective~ be transferred and assessed against Lot ~1, Block III, (except the North 180' ) Walton's Sunny Acres 4th. All members present. ~inutes of the last regular meeting were read and approved. Mr. M. Wiltsey was in and asked permission to live in a trailer for sixty days and the~ in a basement until November 1st, on 7th Street, Lot 14, Block 24. Motion by Lauge seconded by Trench to grant this request with the agreement that he would have to v~cate if the house was not built by November 1st, 1951. Roll Call - All Ayes. A Petition was received from Kenneth H. Lee, 39th & Stinson to connect to o~r water. Motion by Lange secor~ied by Spekulant to grant this reguest at the customary charges.
