Meeting called to order at 7:30 P.N. A~I! members present.
A large delegation from H~lltop Addition, with Attorney Thomas W. Mobberl~y as
spokesman, complained of the impassable road conditions in that area, and requested
some ~muediate action.
Resolution offered by Lange seconded byHolm, lt_w~i~S, unseasonable weather of the
nature of a spring breakup has resulted in roads becoming impassable .in the Hilltop
sub-division, and; ~.
Y~R~EEAS, as a result, the health and safety oD the residents are endangered ~because
of the inability to provide transportation there, including fire trucks, pol-ice cars
and ambulances.
NOW T~REFORE BE iT ?F~S~LVED, by the City Council of the City of Columbia Heights, in
a special meeting this ~th day of December, 19~l, that an emergency exists in said
Hilltop area, vhich results inthe necessity for emergency expenditures to make roads
passable again. Roll Call - All Ayes.
Motion by Lange seconded by Holm, authorizing the City Manager to make whate~,-~
montacts are necessary to set up an emergenc~ road program, and to expend %~atever
necessary to make the' roads passable, hiring equipment on an hourly basis, and material
on a unit basis. Roll Call - All Ayes.
~ayor Stopka announced a public meeting for December 13th, relative to the Hilltop
Addition, to clarify ~he future course of action.
Motion ~y Lange seconded by Hob, that v~ accept the bid of the International-Harvester
Co. for two truck 19~l at ~2,999.70 per truck, plus additional frontand rear springs
at ~9.80 per truck. Roll Call - Lange,Holm, Spekulant, Stopka - Yes. Deeble - No.
~otion by Holm seconded by Deeble, to allow the Lettermen's Club permission to erect
a Christmas Tree on ~Oth and ~ill St. Roll Call -All Ayes.
