Ordi.nance No~ 24 had its s~cond
reading, motion .by O~trander second
by ,Ludwein, t~at it be adopted, and
be in '~orce after .(30) th.irty days,
c'arried. The 'following resolution
was introduced by .Burgoyne, auld.
moved fro' its adoption.
Resolved, ~hat ,a cement curb ~nd
gutter, be laid on both sides of (~0)
~ortieth Ave., from'. Central to fif-
teen feet or more west of (Stb)~iftb
Street. That cost thereof, be asses-
~ed the property especially ~)enefit-
ted thereby.- Said assessment to be
'divided in (2) two equal annual in-
stalments. Second ~ by Ledwein,
carried. City Manager read ,a .letter
from Mr. L~wson~,of St. Paul in .re-
gard to loan. The bids '~or curb and
gutter were read, and Gust Holtman
of Minneapolis, being the lowest bid-
der a motion was made, Ostrander,
second by Ledwein that Gust Holt-
man's bid be a~ccepted. Carried.

w~th the Arcade Investment' Comp~ny~
a cort)orf~tion, for the purchase of the
following described lands and prem-'
isos in the County of Anoka and State
of .SIinnesota, to-wit: Lots Eighteen
(18), Nineteen (19), Twenty (20),
Twenty-one (21) and Twenty-two (22)
iu Block Igifty-eight (58) in Columbia
Heights AnlleX to 5;inneal)olis, accord-.
inw to the plat thereof on file and of
record in the office of the Register of
Deeds in and for said County. of Anoka
and State of Minnesota. said lands
in~ within the corporate limits of said
City of Columbia Heights, same to be
used for the building of municipal
bu tldings. :
Section 2. That said contract shalt~
provide that the total consideration.orl
purchase price, of said lots shall
:the sum of Twelve l-hmdred
' ($t,200), payable as follows:
five Dollars ($25.00) upon the execu-
tion of said.contract, and Twenty-five.[
Dollars ($25.00) per month, said con-[
tract shall contain ~t provision permit-
ting said City of Columbia ~.Ieights to

· time the council shall so elect, and
shall also provide that conveyance
shall be by warranty deed cofiveying
clear title except as to any special
