Communication read from School Board in regards to closing of strdets' and alleys on Van Buren St. from ~ (41s't) Forty-first Ave. to' 42nd Ave. ~i'After remarks a, motion by Burgoyne, '~i"sec°nded by Karxow, that Council call 'i a Joint meeting with School 'Board.' ~_Carried. ' Communication 'City,' Minn., inviting the Council to a convention of--the municipalities to be held in that.city. June 19, 29,21. Mo- ti0n by Burgoyne, seconded by Led- wein, that Councihnan Karr0w, C0unc*il: woman Ostrander and Manager Leitch be sent to. the convention at the pense of the city. Carried. Letter read from John Zajoras asking a special p~rmit to put up a. store building on front of lot line for less than $1,500. Moved by B~{'rgoyne, seconded by Led- wein, that request be tabled for fur- 'ther investigation. Carried unanimous- ly. Communication'r~ead from A. S. Porter in regards to use of road thru Lots 5 and 6 on his property. A mo- tion was made by Ostrander that city entgr n~w arrangement with Mr..Por- ter, and lease road for two years for the sum of $50.00, said road to be (20) twenty feet wide. Carried unanimous- ly..__Let~ter read from M~ss I). Stack in regards to' rebate., on taxes. After remarks a motion was made by Bur- goy~e, seconded by Karrow, that Miss Stack be reimbursed for .the sum of '($20.00) twenty dollarsJ Carried.unan: imously. , Motion by Burgoyne, seconded by Ledwein,'. the Board of Equalization meet at Columbia'~School house the fourth (4th) I~fonday in June. Manager-was I'instruct'ed to call a round tal)le meet- ~ing for july 1st to take up the ques- l tion to be hek[' at Columbia School !houSe. · Curb and gutter question brought up land Councilman Ledwein 'introduces l the following resolution and moves for its adoption: Resolved, that City il Council of the City of Columbia ~Heights authorize City Manager to | advertis.e for bids in the local paper ',for one week, for curb and gutter on ~(40th) Fortieth avenue from Central ~avenue to Fifth (Sth) street.
