pose of designating the Columbia:

wein absent. Resolution was. offered.
by Councilwoman Mrs. Ostrander and.
moved by her it be adopt'ed. Motion
seconded by Karrow.
Resolved that' Columbia Heights
Record having become a legal publi-
cation, and the necessary affidavits
having been filed with the county au-
ditor, that said paper be designated,
and is now declared to be the official
paper of the city of Colmnbia Heights.

Be it resolved by the City Council
'of the City of C51umbia Heights that
the following amendments and
changes be made to Ordinance No. 7:
All buildings must be linshed on
the exterior within a reasonable time.
The use of tar paper or other highly
inflamab]e material will not be per-
mitted as exterior finish.~ SectiSn 5, Article (c):
To read (4) four feet where it now
reads (3) three feet.
Houses facing East and -~Vest must
be set not less titan' (4) four feet
from North line. Houses facing North
and South be set not less than (4)
foot feet from West lot line. On all
corner lots hbuses must be set not
less than (6) six feet front street lot
line.
Section 5, Article (h): · ..
All new buildings must be built in
liue with the buildings already in the
block: But in a vacant block where
no line has been established all build-
ings simll be ~]aced 25 feet from lot
line to main part of house. All build-
ings costing $1,500.00 or more ll~ust
be placed on a foundation. All parti-
tions over (6) six feet in length must
h~ve at least 2 by 4 studdings s~et
crosswise.
Section 5, Article (i):
Any completed building costing less
il{an $1,500.00 exclusive of plumbing
and heating must be built on back of
lot.
Section 4:

less than 1,0 in. thick for buildingsi

buildings with studdings over 10

Section 15,.Article I:
Conveying (removal permit applica-
tion) must be covered by such bond
as. shall be required by Inspector.
Section 17:
Access to space 'nnder pitched roofs
must be had by either window or trap
2 ft. by 2 ft. All fiat roofs must have
scuttle 2 ft. by 2 ft. openings outward.
Bathrooms .shall be so located as to
have doorway Feeding into some room
or hall other than a bedroom.
First floor .must have ceilings at
least (8) eight feet in the clear and
second floor must have ceilings,' at
least (7) seven feet 6 in.
Ceilings in second floor must have
at least 50% of area of floor.
Except as set forth in this ordinance
all buildings to be erected mnst be
governed by State Housing.Act as set
forth in Chapter 137, Session Laws
of 1917 as antended by Chapter 517,
Session Laws of 1919.
Penalty for violation of any part of
this ordinance shall be a fine of not
more than $100.00 or confinement in
County Jail of not more than 90 days.
Each day,s qontinuance of this viola-
tion shall be"deemed a separate
fence.
