AdJourned Meeting.
Roll Call:- Mayor W C Gauvette, Councilmen Burgoyne, Lynch,
mhd Ledwien present.
Opinion of~ Asst. ~ State Atty. General Pratt
in regard to tie vote on Councilmen ~ during past City
electien was read, afterwhich Councilman Lynch n~ved that a
vacancy exists in the Council and said vacancy be filled by
Council, motion seconded by Councilman Ledwien. Motion
carried.
Nominations for councilman to fill
vacancy, E.N. Baker nominated by Ledwien and A.L. Bentzen nominated
by Counci]~n Lynch. Roll call on vote w~s as follows:-
Councilman Ledwien voted for E N Bakkr,
ouncilman Burgoyne voted for A. L. Bent.zen,
Councilman Lynch voted for A. L. ]~entzen.
A L Bentzen receiving the majority of votes on the
Roll Call was declared elected Councilman to fill the vacancy for
the term of two years, dating from 9th day of Aug. 1921, and the
said A. L. ]~entzen was given the oath of office by Justice of
Peace R. L. Stower and took his seat on the ¢'ouncil immeditately.
Applications for City l~anager were read, and it
was moved by Councilman Ledwien sec. by councilman Lynch that James
0orr be appointed City Manager, there was no other nOminations and
the al~ointment of James Corr as City Manager was _made unanimous
and declared so By N,~yor Gauvette.
Moved by Burgoyne,. sec. By Lynch that the salary of
Corr, as City Manager, be set at ~mA00.00 per year, and that he Be
allowed to hire a City Clerk at $1000.00 per year. Ro~l Call
Lynch, Ledwien, Bentzen and Burgoyne voting yes. ~nanimouSly carried.

Application of the Columbia Amusement Co. for a license to
control and operate Forest Park in which moving pictures are shown,,
vaudeville numbers, and d~ncing pavillion operated, was read and it'was
moved by Burgoyne, sec. by Lynch that the said Columbia Amus~nent/'Ce. be
granted a License to operate the Park on the payment of $25.00. per month,
payable in advance. Roll call, Ledwien voted No., Burgoyne,./ Lynch and
Bentzen voted yes. Motion carried, so ordered by Mayor Gauvettte.
Moved by Lynch, sec by ~~ Bentzen that the City Atty.
draft an ordinance subject to Sec. 55 of the City Charter, motio~ carried.
Moved by Ledwien, sec. by Lynch and carried that City Manager
~ames Ccrr take his office beginning Sop. 1, 1921.
Moved by Burgoyne, sec. ny Ledwien that A. ~. Porter be paid
$2.00 per working day,. compensation for .injury received while working on
V~llage Roads, for the month of ~uly, or 2~ days at 2.00 per day a
total of $52.00. Motion unanimously carried, and' declared so by
Ma~or W C Gauvette.
Moved by ]~urgoyae, sec. by Bentzen that Mr. McDonald be given
the insurance covering 1000 feet of ~ new hose. Carried.
Moved by Burg?yne, sec. by r. edwien and carried that the
~os. F. Auel Co. be paid $1050. for 1000 feet of hose to be w~de out in
three warrants at 6% from August 1 1921 to August 1, 1922.
. Moved by I3.urgoyne, sec. by Ledwien that the Bond of the
City manager be set at ~§,000.00 and the City Clark at $500.00.
Motion carried.
The Bills of M.~..Bean Co. and L. P. Berot were referred
the City Manager, and the following bills were ordered paid on motion
