A special corrimittee of the Columbia Helgbts fire department headed by H. J. Kapka appeared before .the coun-., ell and stated that local firemen want- ed to secure its share of. insurance fund for permanent relief pur, poses and that. it xvould be necessary ior the 'depart- ment to reorganize and get tile sallc- - tion of the council before organization could be effected ahd new '.by-laws for Firemen's Relief Association put through'. Articles of :incorporation were s~nbmitted't6 ttie council and. on motion of McKenna, seconddd 'by-. Bentzen, council authorized firemen 'to go ahead with their plans to' secure this fund and derive l:,enefitS thereby.
