~that the petition to the Street Railway
i Co. be placed in the hands of the. City
Manager for favorable action. Carried
unanimously..
Motion by Le~lwein( secomted by
Ostrander, that ")~!m~ of Mr. IZI'amiI-
ton be allowed. Carried unanimously.
; Motion by I(a-rrow, seconded by
Burgoyne', that Firemen's request, also
three street petitions, one for grading
i and two extensions of water ,mains,
be laid over to the next meeting. Car-
ried unanimously.

The question o£ Legal ~dvisor' was
brought up and Mr. Karrow made a
,motion to .rescind his motion of last
regular meeting and recall Judge
lC. eyes. as Legal Advisor, at tile salary
} of '$15 per meeting. After a very
i lengthy discussion, the n{otion was
.seconded by Ostrandm~. ~Rolq call.

)] Whereas Mr. William Kelsh, a 'prac-
i tieing attorney-at-law and a resident~
i of the city of Columbia Heights has:
~ offered his services free in matters i
pertaining to the city',s legal business,
, :advisory as well as appearing for tlxei
iI city. ' "
; ', Tlmrefore, Be It Resolved, That
Council accept Mr. Kelsh's offer that~
he shall-act as special attorney for:
said city as above and !lereby appoint!'1
Mr. Kels}~ as special attorney,, and/{
whenever said ,attorney be engaged in
other cases, and i~ it is impossible for
him to give attention to the city care,
i then the Council shall be free to en-
gage a competent attorney or attor-
neys to care fo~ such matters as may
be pressing upon the city.
Motion by Ledw.ein, seconded by
Ostra.nder, that the resolution be
adbpted. Carried unanimously.
5Ir. Karrow introduced Resolution
No. 2, but a motion was made by 0s-
trander, seconded by Ledwein, that'
it be laid over to tile next meeting.
Carried.
It was moved and seconde}l that the
meetihg adjourn. Carried.
