ing of Aug. 21 by the City Council
was .called by Manager Leitch Aug.
20, at the 'Columbia school,' with the
Fridley Board present. City Council,
all responded to roll call.
First order of business was with
the Fridley board in regard to finish-
ing.tI~e road work on Main St. and
43rd Ave.. A letter was read from Mr.
Kipp, Construction Engi~neer of State
Highway Dept. After discussing the
matter thorouglily, a motion was made
by 0strander that with the Consent
tile Fridley board, we annul the agree-
mc~t drawn up Sept. 21, 1922,~ and
that a new agreement be drawn up
th'read as follows:

43rd Ave. N. E. to be leveled up with
crashed rock. All loose fiat rock and
the fiat rock standing on edge to be
broken upend used to fill up depres-
siotls~ or removed off the\roadway. A
surfacing of. gravel eight roches thick
and twenty feet wide to be made. The
gravel to' be the' 'same grade as is used
on trunk highway No. 5.
The township of Fridley to pay for!
their half of the grading at the rate i
of 22 cents per yard.
The whole job to b6 finished by De-
cember~ 1, 1923.". '

, Motion was made by Le~hvein, sec-
onded by Burgoyne, that Mr. Hevner
of 4110 5th St. be refunded $5.28 for
a water bill that .had been paid twice.

Tire city manager makes the follow-
lng appointments: Hazel A. Trucker,
to offices of City Clerk and City Treas-
urer at a salary of $1,200 per year;
Gust Andersofi, Electrical Inspector,
compensation, fees less 50 cents
charged by the city.
L. W. Northfield, representing the
business men, req~Lested the council's-
)ermission to put i:a curbing gutter
from 39th Ave. to 4.'Iud Ave. on Cen-
tral. The backerk o~ the proposi~ion~
to furnish the money to do the work,
and the same to be taxed to the own-
ers of the abutting property,, and paid
back as taxes. The matter was laid
on the table until the next meeting.
The question as t0 when. the dog
:license should expire.. After remarks,

taken out now expire June 30, 1924,
