Minutes of last regular meeting read ar~ approved. !i~e following sealed bids were opened and read, for the installation of tn, electrical system in the new water pump house for the City of Columbia Hei~dhts: (I) Heights Electric Co.; (2) The Batzli Co.; (3) The Reliable Electric Co., Inc.; and (4) Electric Repair and Construction Co. Motion by Lang, seconded by Trench to accept the low bid of The Reliable Electric Co. Roi1. Call-Ail Ayes. ~[~e following sealed bids were opened and read, for a police car for the City of Columbia Hei~hts: (1) Jackson Street I,iotors; (2) t~ain Motor Sales Co., Inc.; (3) 1~ne Minar Co.; and (4) 0degard Sales and Service. An application from the Northern States Power Co. was read, asking permission to erect a pole on Madison Place north of 38th Ave. ~.otion by Lange seconded by Yencho to grant the above application. A letter from Henry' Shanedling's and Sons was read, requesting per-' mission to build an indoor theatre on Central Ave. The above company stated that it would tell where the theatre would be built, after the Council gives it the building permit. Motion by Yencho seconded by Spekulant that the letter be placed on file, and that the City Manager be instructed to ask the above company to give the Council more detai~s about the planned theatre, and especially as to where, it would be built. Second reading of Ordinance 258, entitled, "A~m~.~ ORDI;.~A~.~CE VACAT_~NG A~D DISCONTINUING TEAT PART OF JACKSON STREET, _NE, DESCRIBED AS FOLLOWS: Co~encing at the SE corner of Lot Fifteen (15), Block Forty (40), Columbia Heights Annex to Minneapolis thence proceeding North a distance of 240 feet more or less to the SE corner of Lot Nine (9), Block Forty (40), Columbia Heights Annex to Minneapolis. Ordinance ~58 offered by Trench seconded by Yencho. Roll Call-All Ayes. Mr. Graminske was present and requested an extension on his permit to occupy a house trailer at 3915-2nd St. Motion by Spekulant seconded by Trench to grant a 60-day extension on the above permit. Second reading of Ordinance No. 259, being an ordinance entitled, "An ordinance to regulate the construction, extension, alteration and repairing of plumbing work within the city of Columbia Heights and to provide for lhe sanitary installation of such plumbing work."
