Mi~es of last regular and special meetings read and approved with the correction of the minutes of the special meeting of September 20, 1929, by inserting the words "more or less" following the words "3000 yards" in the motion to accept the bid of Chef Herringer on the delivery of 3000 yards more or less of road gravel. Motion by Speku!ant seconded by Lange that bids be taken on the installation of sewers and water mains in certain sections of the Hilltop area. Roll Call-Ail Ayes. A letter from W. Erickson, ~021 Madison St., was read requesting the city to rectify a hazardous condition caused to his driveway by the grading of the alley at the rear of his residence. Motion by Lange seconded by Yencho that the City ~anager be instructed to make an investigation of the above request. Roll Call-All Ayes. A document ~ppointing Milton G. Ouimette as Special ~unicipal Judge for the City of Columbia Heights from September 28 to October l~, 19h9, was read. Notion by Yencho seconded by Spekulant to place the above document on file. Roll Call-All Ayes. A letter from St. Charles Borromeo Church was read requesting permission to play bir~o at its Halloween party in the City of Columbia Heights, October 30, 1929. objection was raised to the above request. No Reading was had of the costs to be assessed owners of property to be benefitted by the construction of the following local improvements: Watermains: No. 170: Jgckson St. 39th to LOth. No. 171: Quincy St. h3rd to ~th. No. 172: Van Buren St. ~th to ~th. No. 173: Stinson Blvd. 5Tth to ~Qth. No. 182: hSrd Ave. Central~cLeod. No. 186: ~3rd Ave. Arthur to Benjamin. No. 187: ~th St. L~7th to hgth to 9th St. No. 189: Jefferson St. ~3rd-~hth. No. 190: Hi]~ltop. Sanitary Sewers: No. 200: Sewers in areas where laid during 19h8 construction season. Resolution offered by Lange seconded by Yencho adopting assessment roll for the following local improvement, and determ~ni~ that said improvement be made and ratifying and confir~3~g all other proceedings heretofore had. That this Council does hereby adopt the aforesaid assessment roll known and described as "Assessment Roll for Local improvement No. 170-171-172-173-182-186- 187--189-190." Section II. That this Council hereby finds and determines that each of the lots and parcels of laud enumerated in said assessment roll was and is especially benefitted by such improvement in an amount not less than the amount set opposite tR~e description of each such lot or parcel of land respectively in said assessment roll in the column headed "Amount of Proposed Assessm~t." And this Council further f~nds and determines t~t the proper proportion of the cost of such i~orovement to be especially assessed against such lot or parcel of land is the amount set opposite the desc~_ption of each such lot or parcel of land respectively in said assessment roll in said column headed · "Amount of Proposed Assessment". Section III. That said assessment roll be and the same is hereby adopted as the assessment roll for the following local improvement hereinbefore/described, and that said assessment roll shall be hereafter known and designated as "Assessment Boll fcr Local Improvement No. 170-171-172-173-182-186-187-189-190." Section IV. That said assessment shall be payable in annual installment for a period of ~ years on or before the first day of June in each of the years from 19~0 to 19~,~ with interest and p~alties as provided by law. Section V. That this Council does hereby determine and re-determine to proceed with said improvement does ratify and confirm all other proceedings heretofore had in that regard, and said improvement shall hereafter be known and numbered as "Local Improve~ ment No. 170-171-172-173-182-186-187-189-190." Section VI. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its passage. WHEREAS, the City Council of Columbia Heights, Minnesota, met on the 27~h Day of September, 19h9, at the City Office in said City, being the time and place set when and where all persons interested would appear and be heard bythe Council with respect to ~benefits,~ and to the proportion of the cost of making the local improvement above described, a notice of such hearing having been heretofore duly published as required by law; and, WHEREAS, this Council has heretofore estimated and fixed the cost of such local improvement and has prepared an assessment roll therefore. That this Council does hereby adopt the aforesaid assessment roll known and described as "Assessment Roll for Local Improvement No. 200". Section II. Section III. Res¢~ution offered by Yencho seconded by Spekulant, The City Council of the City of Col~mbia Heights hereby resolves that, ~gHEP~AS, Special Assessments for Lot 3, Block 10, Roslyn Park, on Job No. 177 in the amount of $117.98 have been paid in full; BE IT T~-~nFORE RESOLVED that the County Auditor be and he is hereby authorized to strike from the assessment rolls the aforesaid assessments. Seccnd reading of Ordinance No. 257, being an ordinsace authorizing the sale by the City of Col~,~ia Heights of .certain real estate known as Lot 8, Block h~ Second Subdivision o~ Block "F", Columbia Heights Annex to Minneapolis. Ordinance No. 257 offered by Yencho seconded by Lange. Roll Call-All Ayes. 'Motion by Spekulant seconded by Lange to graut the following licenses: Minneapolis Elec. A discussion was had on the application by the Oakhill Baptist Church for a~'p~r~it to build a church between ~Oth and ~lst Aves. on Reservoir Blvd. Notion by Yencho seconded by Lange that the above application be turned over to the Zoning Commission. The following sealed bids were opened and read, for furnishing labor, materials ~nd equipment for the construction of sanitary and storm sewers for the City of Columbia Heights: (1) Lametti aud Lametti, Inc.; (2) Orfei and Mariani; (3) Phelps-Drake Inc.; (4) DeGraff Wolff. Motion by Yencho seconded by Spekulant that the bids be turned over to the City Manager for tabulation and return. Roll Call-All Ayes. The following sealed bids were opened and read, for furnishing labor, materials and equipment for the construction of a sewage pumping station for the City of Columbia Heights: (1) Orfei and Mariani; (2) Barnes-Mattison, Inc.; (3) Phelps-Drake Co., Inc. Motion by Lange seconded by Trench that the bids be turned over to the City Mar~.ger for tabulation and return. Roll Call-All Ayes.
