Several citizens were presen~ and. complained of the. monilition of certain sections of 41st Ave. east of Central Ave. The matter was discussed, sand the city manager stated that work towards improving the condition o£ said road would start the following week. Motion by Lange seconded by Trench that~ the city manager be instructed to advertise for bids for the furnishing of a sufficient amount of gravel necessary for city road purposes for t~e balance of this year. Salpietro, d249 Stinson Blvd., a sixty-days, extension permit for-the parking and occupancy of a house trailer at the above address. Roll Call - All Ayes. A petition was read, requesting that the sewer on Second Street be extended from 42nd Ave. to 37th Ave. this year. Two citizens were present regarding the petition, and they were advised that the sewer will be extended as requested, but no promise could be given as to its installation ~hi~ YSar. A petition was read requesting the establishment of a dump on Polk Et., filling to start from 40th Ave.,or 400 feet in the swamp, and side fill on street only. The petition~was discussed with Murray, ~9~9 Polk St., but no immediate action was taken on the · matter. ~otion by Trench seconded by Spekulant to grant the following licenses: J. 0. A letter from the National ~ea Co. was read, offering to sublease its present quarters in Columbia Heights;for occupancy by'the municipal liquor store. ~otion by Lange seconded by Trench to place the preceding letter on file. Roll Call - All Ayes. A letter from the Minnesota Department of Aeronautics was read, enclosing an order closing the file on the application by the city for approval of an airport site. Eotion by Yencho seconded by Trench to place the letter on file. Roll Call - All Ayes. Resolution offered by Lange seconded by Trench, WHEREAS it may be ~ecessary for certain residents of the City of Columbia Heights to connect to the sanitary sewers in the present districts, although being located in areas belongin~ to other sewer districts, NOJ~, THEREFORE, BE IT PSES¢.LVED by the City Council of the City of Columbia Heights that $180.00 be the charge for the right~ to connect to existing sewers in such instances.
