Motion b~ Nygaard seconded by Weldon to place Gommunication on file received .from Veterans of Foreign Wars, regarding use of the city park July 2-4, 1949 for a celebration. Roll Call - All Ayes. Motion by Trench seconded by Weldon to place communication on file receivedTrom the League of Minnesota ~lunicipalities, regarding Municipal Liquor Stores in towns with over lO,O00 population. Roll Call -'All Ayes. Motion by Yencho seconded by Nygaard, to adopt ~the recommendation of the Police Civil Service Commission for appointment of Walter Reinhart.as Patrolman, amd that the salary will be as previously set for rookie patrolmen. Roll Call - All Ayes. ~otion b~ Nyga~rd seconded by Weldon, to grant Heating License to Y.W. Zander Sheet Metal Co., ~ penn Ave. N~. and Cigarette License to Abner C. Shivers, 1~09-37th Ave. N.E. Roll.Call - All Ayes. The request of ~ark H. Burchard to build a garage on the south east portion of 39~1 Johnson St. to live in temporarily was not granted. Notion by Weldon seconded by Trench, to place ~he letter on file re- ceived from Stanley F. Kreskie, regarding raising the rent of the Nunicipal Liquor store, and that the Liquor Committee meet with Nr. Kreskie. Roll Call - All Ayes. No~ion by Mygaard seconded by Weldon to place letter and Ordinance received from the City of ~inneapolis regarding new water rates on file, and that the Mayor, City Attorney and City Nanager act as a committee and meet with the Einneapolis Water Co~ittee at their next meeting. Roll Call - All Ayes. ~otion by Nygaard seconded by Weldon to accept the bid of Geo. T. Ryan C6. for a Snow Plow at $~98.00. Roll Call - All Ayes. Motion by Nygaard seconded by Weldon to accept the bid of the Z~gler Co. for a No.l~D$~sel'~aber~illam Grader at ~IB,3RR.00. Roll Call All Ayes. City Manager instructed to write to ~. Hoffman of the State Highway Department regarding re-surfacing and widening of Central Avenue from. 37th to ~Sth and make arrangement~ to meet with him. Notion by Trench seconded by Weldon, that City ~anager be instructed to contact Traffic Highway Engineer regarding the iostallation of Traffic Signal on ~Oth and Central, requesting that the type of signal be changed. Roll Call - All Ayes. ~ir. Hebzynski, 3908 Y~ain St. was present and r~quested a building permit to remodel a building on his property. This was referred to the Planning Con,mission. Complaints were received regarding the bad condition of ~!st Ave. east of Reservoir Blvd. and City Manager agreed.to have this fixed.
