Regular Meeting October 26, 1948
Eeeting called to order at 8 P.E. All members present.
~.~inutes of the last regular meeting and special meeting were read and
approved.
~iotion by Trench seconded by Weldon, upon deposition of 5600.00 Bond,
that City ~lanager be instructed to go ahead with re-laying of sidewalk
on west side of 5th Street ~000 block. Roll Call - All Ayes.
¥.otion by Nygaard seconded by Weldon to place letter on file received
from Omar Schwartz, Fire 5hief regarding a Firemen, s meeting in North
St.Paul Sept. 19th. Roll Call - All Ayes. payment allowed.
~otion by Weldon seconded by Nygaard, to grant the Morthern States
Power Co. permission to place l0 poles on ~ain Street from ~tst to 44th
Ave. and seven poles on 43rd Ave. from Main St. to ~Y.P.R.R. crossing.
Roll Call - All A yes.
~otion by Nygaard seconded by Trench, that Electrical License be
granted N. Heller, 1~36 James Ave. No. amd Heating License to the
Welter Heating & Air Conditioning Co., 4OZ7 Chicago Ave. Roll Call -
All Ayes.
Motion by Trench seconded by Yencho , that City ~lanager be instructed
to write to State Representatives and Senators, requesting t~hat we
would like to have Uentral Avenue re-surfaced from 40th to 45th. Roll
Call - All Ayes.
~[otion by Nygaard seconded by Weldon, that the same Judges serve at
the General Election on November 2nd. Roll Call - All Ayes.
Motion by Weldon seconded by Yencho, that the contract between the City
of Columbia Hei.-~ts and the ~!inuesota Linseed 0il Co. be accepted as'
read, and the I~ayor a nd City ~.lanager are hereby authorized a nd in-
st~-ucted to execute said contract. Roll Call - All Ayez.
~otion by L~ygaard seconded by Trench tl_.at City ~anager be instructed
to publish notice for the public sale of ~150,000.00 Improvement Bonds.
Roll Call - All Ayes.
Eotion by Trench seconded by yencho, that the property conveyed by the
~innesota Linseed 0il ~ paint Co. under Quick Claim Deed be and the
same is hereby accepted by the City of Columbia Heights. Roll Call-
All Ayes.
