First reading of Ordinance ~[o.245, an Ordinance providing for the issuance of $~150,000 permanent improvement revolving fund bonds, determini~ the form and details of the bonds, creating'a sinking f,~nd therefor and levying taxes for the payment thereof. I~[r. I[arold Seavey, union representative was present to aiscusg wages for the coming year. It was agree d to hold the next re~ular meeting on I~onday October !lth dv..e to the Leag~ue Regional ~,[eeting to be held in Columbia Heights on October !tth. A}[D .]~[EREAS such improvement now has been made and the cost thereof has been apportioned to the several lots and parcels of land benefitted by such improvement; BE IT EEP:EBY RESOLVED that this City Council will meet on the 19th Day of October, 1948 a t 8:00 o,clock ?.~.,~. at the City office in the.City of Columbia Heights where all pevsons interested may appear and be heard by the Council with respect to benefits and the proportion of the cost of the improvemen~ to b~ assessed agains~t their property, and that the City ~.~ianager be and he is hereby authorized and directed to publish a notice of the time and place~,where such persons may be heard, once' in the official newspaper of the City, not less than ten (lC) days prior to the date of such meeting, together with a description of the district benefitted by such improvement. Roll Call- Trench, Weldon, yencho, Einutes of the last regular meeting and adjourned meeting were read and approved. P:otion by Trench seconded by Weldon, that City Manager be instructed to cut dowh intersection as far as possible without endangering water main at 50th and 5th Street and fill the grade in front of 5018 and 5024 the least amount possible to provide the proper drainage. Roll Call - All Ayes. ~otion by Trench seconded by Yencho, that~the contract as proposed between the City of Columbia Heights and the ~innesota Linseed 0~l Co. be accepted, with the provision that there be included~therein the provision requiring the 3~ per 100 Cu. ~Ft. sewer~g~ maintainance charge, and upon that agreement with the ~iunesota Linseed oil Co,, the City ~anager and ~ayor be authorized and instructed to complete the contract. Roll Call - All ~yes. ~otion by Weldon seconded by yencho, to grant permission to the Northern States power Co. to install a.pole on 37th Ave. California Grand St. M.E. Roll call - All Ayes. ~.otion by Trench seconded by yencho, that ~permission be granted the Civic Improvement Assoc. to plant a tree ~on the point, 40th ~ ~.'.ill St. Roll Call - All Ayes. Eotion by Weldon seconded by yencho, that overtime be paid for 19~8 to former~patrolmen Steinfeldt and Zettergren. Roll Call - All Ayes.
