Motion by Ny~aard seconded by We!don, that License be granted to D.S.
pavlock, 9!~-~Oth Ave. iLE. for off-sale Beer and Cigarettes. Roll
Call - Ail Ayes.
Mctlon by Nygaard seconded by Weldon, that application for onl and off-
sale beer License of Thomas Dah~r, $911 Univ. Ave. !~.E. take their
regular course. Roll Call - All Ayes.

The l.~ayor nominated Chet Herringer to fill the vacancy on the Police
Civil Service Commission. l!otion by Nygaard seconded bY Weldon to
concur with the ~,~ayor,s appointment. Roll Call - All Ayes.
The ~ayor nominated Lawrence J. Arent, S707 Madison Place to fill the
Vacancy on the Zoning Commission. Motion by Nygaard seconded by Trench
to concur with the Mayor,s appointment. Roll Call - Mygaard, Trench,
Yencho, Soderholm - Yes. Weldon - ~[o.
Weldon submitted his resignation on the Zoning Commission. Motion
by Trench seconded by yencho to accept his resignation. Roll Call -
All Ayes.
Motion by Trench seconded by Yencho that .the Mayor be appointed to fill
tl~e vacancy on the Zoning Commission. Roll Call - All Ayes.
Resolution offered by Nygaard seconded by Weldon, BE IT RES~'~ED by the
City Council of the City of Columbia Heights that, ~gHEREAS exigencies
have arisen making it necessary to obtain new POlice Patrolmen and,
'~'EREAS ~onslderab!e diffiCult'~~ is encountered i~ malnt~ining Police
Patrolmen at present wage levels, N0W T~R~PORE it is hereby resolved
that the basic wage for probationery patrolmen shall be $225.00 per
month as of August l, 1948, and permanent status patrolmen s~all re-
ceive $240.00 per month as of August l, 1948, with time in rank~
increase as may be set by the Council. Roll Call - All Ayes.
Motion by Yencho seconded by Trench to accept the recommendation of
the police Civil Service Commission for patrolmen, Nell Cleland,
~312 MadisOn St. N.E. and Floyd Bixler, 4233 - 6th St. N.E. Roll
Call - All Ayes.
Second reading of Ordinance No.241, Being an ordinance regarding re-
zoning of Lot 9 Block 17 and part of Lot 2 Block 10, ~uditors Sub-
divlsi~n of Walton, s Sunnyaqres 3rd, Columbia Heights, Einnesota.
Ordinance No. S41 offered by ~!ygaard seconded by Trench.

Resolution offered by yencho seconded by Nygaard, BE IT HEREBY RE'
SOL~ZED by the City Council Df the City of Columbia Heights that the
City Treasurer be and she is hereby isstructed to transfer the sum
of ~3000.00 from the Liquor Fund to the Street Fund; and that there
are sufficient moneys in said Liquor fund to make such transfer.

Avenue was received and they were informed street lights were being
installed. *
