March 23, 1948
Meeting called to order at 8 P.M.
All members present.
~inutes of the last meeting were read and approved.
~rs. Blythe and other interested parties were present and urged that
something be done about building a new Libra ry. They also pre-
sented several letters from other interested groups.

to get preliminary estimates for this Library building. Roll Call -

Baumga~tner to park a trailer at 4501 - 0th St. for 6D ~ays.

Fire Department Relief Ass'n. be granted a permit to hold the
Summer Festival and waive all fees. Roll Call - All Ayes.

VanderBosch, 4311 Eeservoir Blvd. on Water permit amounting to ~43.00.

Resolution offered by Trench seconded by Weldon, WITEREAS: The
Commercial Developement on Central Ave. N.E. between~f40th Avenue
N.E. and $1st Avenue N.E. has advanced to a stage where ingress and
egress for delivery purposes must be provided to supplement ordinary
Highway traffic, and W~EREAS, no public alley is provided in the plat
of Block 5 Reservoir Hills, for su6h traffic to business and commercial
establisb-ments on the east side of said Central Avenue N.~E. NOW,
THEREFORE BE IT RESOIiVED by the City of Columbia Heights that the
public interest requires and necessitates the acquiring for public
Alley purposes, of t~e W 20 feet of Lot 34 Block 5 Reservoir Hills,
Columbia Heights Anoka County. The acquisition of the same to be
co~nenced forthwith. Roll Call - All Ayes.

protection be granted to Bruce E. Stanchfield, 4001 Stinson Blvd.,

Motion by Trench seconded by Nygaard, to grant the Plumbing License
to L.O. Klopfer, 315 N.E. 5th St. Roll' Call - All Ayes.

License to Northland Milk & Ice Cream Co. Roll Call - All Ayes.
Application was received from John Varone, to take charge 5~.the
Silver Lake Dump without any charges. Trench and Olseon instructed
to take this up with the present caretaker and see if satisfactory
arrangements could be made.

Brisco-Johnston ~otor Co., for a 3 to 5 ton Dodge T~uck at ~3390.00.

Second reading of Ordinance No. B3~, Being an Ordinance to vacate
the South one foot of the alley between 3Vth Avenue N.E. and 38th
Avenue N.E. bounded by a point 20 feet east of the '~¥~st lime of lo~

on the west.

Me,ting called to order at 8 P~M. All members present.
Minutes of the last regular meeting were read and approved.
Motion by Nygaard seconded by Weldon that the following petitions
be turned over to the City Manager and take their regular course:
41st Avenue between Reservoir Blvd. and StiMson - Curb,Gutter and
Sidewalk, necessary surfacing of said street.
Installation of water mains to property in Roslyn park.
Sidewalk on east ride of 6th street between'43rd and 44th Avenues.
Open up the North-South alley west of Reservoir Blvd. between 40th
and ~lst Avenues N.E.
Sanitary Sewer on 43rd Avenue east of Central Avenue N.E.
Road cut thru on Arthur Street between 42nd ~nd 43rd Avenues N.E.
also water connection.
Roll Call - All Ayes.
Ray Pritchard was present and discussed with the Council grading work
to be done in the park this summer, also th~ purchasing of a spray gun.
It was decidSd that City Manager get togethe~ with John Hurzyn and take
care of these matters.
Representatives from the ~ire Dep&rtmeht were present regarding the
land adjoining the Fire Station, and this was referred to the City
M~nagev and City Attorney for further repor~~.
