NeetingI called to order at 8:15 p.N. Neeting~called for the purpose of
opening bids on Sewer construction and Discussion of the BudSe$.
Bids were received from the following for furnishing labor and materials
in installing Sanitary Sewers in Columbia Heights:

Lametti & Lam~tti
Phelps-Drake
Motion by Weldon seconded by Yencho that these bids be turned over to the
City Manager for tabulation and a report made ~t the next meeting. Roll
C~ll - All Ayes.
Residents were in complaining of the condition of the alley between 5th
and 6th streets running between 42nd and 43rd ~venues and they were
assured~this would be taken care of.
Motion by Trench seconded by Yencho, that the Electrical License be
granted to R.E. Stover, 1562 Sherburne Ave., St. Paul. Roll Call - All
Ayes.
Notion by Nygaard seconded by ~?eldon, that a License be granted to
operate a Bowling Nachine to ~rs. Lak~ta, 400E Central Ave. Roll Call -
All Ayes.

Telephone Co. to place buried cable on 37th Avenue N.E.b~tween Central
and Quincy Street N.E., also on 5th St. and west on 37th Avenue, be
granted subject to the approval of the City Nanager. Roll Call - All Ayes.
Notion by Trench zeconded by Yencho , that the application for Off-sale
Beer License of He~bert W. Lennox, 4755 Univ. Ave. be tabled for further

Regular meet lng
October 14, 1947
Meeting called to order at 8 P.M. All members present.
Minutes of the last regular and special meetings were read and approved.
Mrs. Blythe and other members of the Library Board were present and dis-
cussed with the Council future plans for building a new Library and they
were instructed to get a committee together and discuss this further.
Representatives of the Milk Drivers Association were present and discussed
wi~h the Council the License Fee for Milk Trucks.
Mr. Stinson of VanBuren Street was present regarding the building of
cabins on 39th and Central and he was informed ~ hearing has been set
f~ October 21st at 4 P.M. before the Planning Con~ission.
Mo~ion by Nygaard seconded by Weldon that the petition for Curb and Gutter
on the East side of Madisinn Street between ~4th and ~5th, be turned over
to the City Manager and take its regular course. Roll Call - All Ayes.
Mo~ion by Weldon seconded by Nygaard, that permission be granted to A.E.
Whitney, 4601 Jefferson St., to hook onto the water main on the property
of J. Arnold Lee~ 4539 Jefferson St. Roll Call - All Ayes.

Northern States Power Co. to place four (~) poles on ~e ea.~t side of
C,~ntral Ave. from 40th to 4End Avenue. Roll Call - All Ayes.
