Meeting called in regards to a petition received from residents in the area of Lrniversity and 4Otb Avenue for the removal of the Stanton Chemical Co. from its present location on Lot 14, Rearrangement of Block E. Motion by Nygaard seconded by Weldon, that the petition be placed on file and that the Council take no furh~er action in the matter. Roll Call - All Ayes. Motion by Yencho seconded by Trench, that ~e Fire Protection be provided the Minnesota Linsee~ 0il Co. under the same conditions as the Trailer Camp, for a period of six months. Roll Call - All Ayes. Roll Call - Nygaar~, Trench, Weldon and Soderholm, Yencho. Minu~es of the last regular meeting and Special Meeting were read and approved. Motion by Nygaard seconded by Weldon, that the .City ~j!anager return the contract to the City of Robbinsdale, regarding Mutual Fire Protection, with a statement that on recommendation of the Columbia Heights Fire Depart~:ent, the City of Columbia Heights will not participate in this contract at present. Roll Call - All Ayes. Motion by Nygaard seconded by Trench, to grant 9ermission to Glen Crawford, 4411 - 6th St. to park a trailer for 60 days. Roll Call - All Ayes. Motion by Nygaard seconded by Weldon, that a License be granted to operate a Milk Truck to the 0hleeLn Dairy Co. and the Northland-Milk Co. Roll Call - All Ayes. Motion by Weldon seconded by Nygaard, to grant Electrical Licenses to Hans Severson, 848-40th Ave. and W.G. KUehl, 92V E. Minnehaha Ave., St. Paul. Roll Call - All Ayes. Motion by Weldon seconded by Trench, to grant a Plumbing License to Victor Contoski, 1810 -Sth St. N.E. Roll Call - All Ayes. Motion by Weldon seconded by Trench, to refund $9.50 to Gordon Peterson, on a building permit which he is not going to use. Roll Call - All Ayes. Motion by Trench seconded by Weldon, that Arrangements be made to have Traffic Signals installed at 40th and Central Avenue. Roll Call - All Ayes. ~otion by Nygaard seconded by Weldon, that the following petitidns be turned omer to the City ~anager: Sidewalk on the East and West side of 8th Street between gOth and 51st. Sewer on Nonroe Street from 4End to ~Sth Avenue. Sewer from Quincy & 38th Ave. down ~Sth Ave. the length of four lots, also water main. Roll Call - All Ayes. Resolution offered by Weldon seconded by Yencho, ~qEREAS according to contract between Local Joint Executive Board of the Hotel and Restaurant employees and the Ninneapolis Liquor Dealers Association ?~EREAS, according to the contract ~f the Bartenders and Waitresses wages be increased 7% over and above the former contract rate and an additional Holida~ with pay has been granted. BE IT THEREFORE RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Holumbia Heights, that this contract be hereby accepted and that Bartenders and Waitresses in the Columbia Height Nunicipal Liquor Store be granted an increase of ~% effective November 1st, 19~. Resolution offered by Trench seconded by Nygaard, ~WHEREAS it has been recommended by the Columbia Heights Park Board, that John Murzyn be made Supervisor of parks and that his salary be increased $~5.00 per month. BE IT TPNEREFORE RES0~VED by the City Council of the City of Columbia Heights, that the salary of John ~;.urzyn be increased $15.00 per month, effective November 1st, 1947. Roll Call - Nygaard, Trench, Yencho and Soderholm. Weldon Absent. Minutes 6f the last meeting were read and approved. August Peterson was present and informed us there would be a Special Election on December 18, regarding Bonds for ~400,000.00 to bulld a new Court House in the City of Anoka. He also informed us two more Deputy Sheriffs had been added in Anoka County. Motion by Nygaard seconded by Yencho,to grant the following Heating Licenses: St. Anthony Sheet Metal Shop, ~608-33rd Ave. N.E. Cronstrom Heating & Sheet Metal, 4225 Hiawatha Ave. Roll Call - All Ayes. Motion by Trench seconded by Nygaard, to grant the following Electrical Licenses: 0. B.
