Linseed be granted permission to ins~t;~ l~ a E~ii~oad Track Scale. Roll Call - All Ayes. l~otion by ~ygaard seconded by Weldon, that the letter received from our Police Chief, regarding several matters they wanted taken~care of, be placed on file. Roll Call - All Ayes. Omar Schwartz, Fire Chief was present and h~ was informed that Columbia Heights would continue not to give F~idley Fire Protection until a sat- isfactory agreement could be reached. OFFICIAL PROOEEDING~ Regular meeting July 22, 1947 Meeting called to-order at 8 P.M. Ail members present. Minutes o~ the two meetings of July 7th were, read ~nd approved. A representative o~ the Fire Department was ~n and discussed with the Council parking during the JUbilee and they were informed this would be takeh up with the Police department. Resolution offered by Nygaard seconded by T~ench, TH~ CITY COUNCIL 0~ the City of Columbia Heights hereby resolves that.- WHEREAS the balance of special assessments on Jobs No.lE~ and 1~ for Lot Thirty (60) Block For~y-seven (47) Columbia Heights Annex, payable in the years 1948 and 1949, and. 1948 to 198t ~espectfully, have bee~ paid in full to the City Treasurer; BE IT HEREBY RESOL. VED that the County Auditor be and he is hereby authorized and instructed ~o cancel from the assessment rolls the aforesaid assessments. Roll Call - Ail Ayes. Motion by Trench seconded by Nygaard that the following heating licences be granted: Regen~ 0il Burner Co., 4100 W. Broadway, Mpls. B.T. Pearson, Rte. 12, Box 148, Mpls. A and A Sheet Metal Shop, 928 - ~gth Ave. Roll Call - Ail Ayes. Motion by Trench seconded by Weldon, that the Ice Station license issued to Gor~on O~mmens, Dgo0 Univ. Ave. be cancelled as requem~ed. Roll Call- ,l! Ayes. Motion by Yencho seconded by Trench, that the Ice Station License be Granted to Alfred J. RoXlich, 8900 Univ. Ave. Roll Call - All Ayes. Motion by Nygaard seconded by Weldon, that the Cigarette License be granted to Edward J. pavlock, 4010 Central Ave. Roil Call All Ayes. Motion by Nygaard seconded by Weldon, that the letter received from ~r.E. Cottrell, Chief of Police, regarding the meeting in Duluth of the International Association of Chiefs of Police on Sept. 21, 1947 be placed on file. Roll Call - All Ayes. Motion by Nygaard seconded by Trench, that we send our Police Chief to this meeting in Duluth with expenses paid. Roll Call - All Ayes. Motion by Weldon seconded by Trench, that the letter be placed on file received frc~ the Minnesota Association of Professional Engineers. Roll Call - All Ayes. Motion by Trench seconded by Yencho, that the City Manager be instructed to advertise for bids for renting Bowling ~lleys for year 1947-48, in the Columbia Heights Record and Minneapolis paper, as per request of the park Board. Roll Call - All Ayes. Motion by Yencho seconded by Trench, to send a letter to Dr. H. Kesting refusing the claim of $420.00 on building on University Ave. Roll Call- all Ayes. Motion by Nygaard seconded by Weldon, that communication received from H.E. Soderholm, regarding appointment of Milton Ouimette to serve as Judge of the Municipal Comrt during the absence of Judge J~uson, be placed on file. Roll Call - All Ayes. Resolution offered by Neldon seconded by Yencho, WHEREAS, Section 16 of the City Charter of the City of Columbia Heights, prescribes that~ regular meeting dates of the City Council be established. Now, THEREFORE BE IT RESODVEDby the City Council of the City of Columbia Heights, that regular meeting of the Council be held on the End and 4th Tuesday of each month; provided however, should a recognized holiday coincide with said meeting date, it is further resolved that such meetingbe held on Thursday of the same week. Roll Call - All Ayes. A union representative was present and it was agreed to pay extra city employes $1.10 per hour. Er. Wilkinson of the WilkinsOn Home Finance Corp. was present and discussed with the Council, Hilltop Golf Course Addition. Motion by Trench seconded by Weldon, that the Silver Lake School Dump be declared free and also authorize paying Nick Kerchansky $50.00 per month to take care of same. Roll Call - All Ayes.
