Several Residents were present from 38th Avenue and stated they did not want sidwatks put in at this time. They were told this would be held up and the Eayor promised to hold a meeting with the residents of 38th Avenue and try and iron out their difficulties. " " No.!26 - Sidewalk on 42nd from 6th St. to Central Ave. North side. ~$~EREA$ the City Manager has heretofore made a careful extlmate of the cost of such improvement; and, V~r[EREAS a hearing has been heretofore held before the Council in regard to approximate cost and benefits to the several lots and pa rcels of land fronting upon or adjacent to such improvements; and, ~tEREAS at such hearing no objection was heard as to su~. costs or benefits; BE IT R-EREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of Columbia Heights that the City ~anager be and he is here by authorized and instructed to proceed with the construction of such improvement as soon as may be. Roll Call - All Ayes. Eotlon by Speku!ant seconded by Nygaard, that Fire Department be allowed to send two firemen and the Chief or alternate, to the Convention at Braine~d, each to receive ~0.00 expenses and paid men expenses only. Roll Call - All Ayes. August Peterson was present and asked that the Petition for the ex- tention of Stinson Blvd. be brought before a Judge for his decision and he was assured this would be taken care of. Notion by Jackson seconded by Weldon that delegates from the Police Department to the Convention be allowed expenses. Roll Call - All Ayes. Motion by Nygaard seconded by Spekulant that City officials be allowed $100.00 Expenses to attend the Convention of the Minn. League of ~.~nicipal- ities at Duluth June ll, 12 and 13th, paid employees to get expenses only, Roll Call - All Ayes. ~otion by Jackson seconded by Weldon to Adjourn.
