Neeting called to order at ,8 P.~.. Ail Members present.
I~Inutes of the last meeting were read and approved.
The following were granted permits to park their trailors for 60 days:
Lloyd VanScoy, 3V04 Tyler St. N.E.
Douglas ~e~yberg, 44th and Main Street.
Geo. Mitchell, 3857 Quincy St. N.E.
Francis Sexton, 4135 - 4th St. N.E.
Motion by Spekulant seconded by Nygaard. Roll Call - Ail Ayes.
~.~.r. Voss Jr. was present and asked the Council if there was a
Solicitors or peddlers License and he was informed there was a fee
of 5.oo,
~r. Adolph Hanson and others were in and complained hbout the lighting
on Reservoir Blvd. ~otion by Jackson seconded by Weldon that the
City ~anager contact the ~inneapolis Water Works regarding this.
Roll Call - All Ayes.
~r. Hanson also asked if the alley in back of his house couid be fixed.
The condition of Johnson street between 39th and ~0th.was discussed~
and it was requested that this be graded.
Jerry Cotter was present and discussed his plans for Garbage and Refuge
collection in Columbia Heights. The Council agreed to discuss this
further and make a decision at a later date.
Bids were received from the following on Sidewalks and Curb and Gutter:

Victor Carlson, ~iinneapolis, ~!inn.
Motion was made by Jackson seconded by Spekulant, to table these bids
until the next meeting, so that City ~anager can tabulate these bids.

~otion by Spekulant seconded by Nygaard, that Petition for Street
Improvements on Jackson Street between 37th and 39th Avenue, be tunaed
o~er to the City ~anager. Roll Call - All Ayes.
Motion by Jackson seconded by Weldon, that a permit be granted the
N.W. Bell Telephone Co. to install an anchor on the east[side of the
alley nmrth of 51st Avenue, between 0th and 7th Street N.E. Roll Call
All Ayes.
Eotion by Nygaard seconded by Spekuiant that the follOwing Licenses be
granted, the Pl~m~bing License subject to the approval.of the-Plumbing
Inspector:

First Reading of Ordinance No.217 authorizing the sale by the
City of Columbia Heights of certain Real Estate known as Lot 3

to advertise for bids on the building on University Avenue. Roll Call -

~.~eeting called to order at 8 P.M. All Members present.
~inutes of the last meeting were read and approved.
Dr. J.S. Blument~mll and other residents were in and complained about
the increase in their property taxes and they were told to pay them
under protest and make their claim at the equallzatlonlboard which
meets the fourth monday in June.
Several residents from 41st Avenue were in complaining~about the
Hatchery on 41st and Central and they were assured this would be
investigated and remedied, i
Erling Drang~id was informed there would be no objection to a pop Corn
S~and on Central Avenue.
~otion by Jackson seconded by Weldon, that the request of J.A. Mecklenburg
900 E. River Terrace, Mpls. to do some work on 37th Avenue, be turned
over to the City ¥.anager. Roll Call - All Ayes.
