Minutes of the last meeting were read and approved.
Letter received from the Fire Department regarding Fire Protection in
Fridley and also asking for some new equipment that is needed. ~otion
by Weldon seconded by Jackson, that City Manager purchase sut~h equipment
as he deems necessary. Roll Call - All Ayes.
~otion by Jackson seconded by Nygaard, that City Manager notify the
Fridley T~n Board after Sixty days the fire protection will be terminated
unless they'make satisfactor~ arran~ments with the City of Columbia
Heights before that time. Roll Call - All Ayes.
~otion by Jackson seconded by Spekulant, that'the communication received
from the Universal M. achinery, I~nc., be placed on file, and copy of letter
be sent to the Fire Department. Roll Call - All Ayes.
Letter received from the Northern States Power Co. listing locations
where lights have been installled.

Motion by Jackson seconded by Nygaard, that request received from Gabiel
Vogt to have Polk Street between 39th and 40th graded, be turned over to
City Manager~ Roll Call - All Ayes.
Application-received from the Minneapolis Street Railway Co. to operate
a feeder bus line which will connect with present facilities in Columbia
Heights. City Manager was instructed to obtali more specific information.

Avenue ~.E.; thence east on 4~th Avenue ~.E. to University Avenue ?~.E.;

during such times as the petitioner shall have the opera~ion of his b~ses
protected and covered by public liability insurance policy providing for
a payment of up to ~80,000 in the event one person is injured or killed
by accident arising out of the operation of such b~s line, and for the
palnnent of~up to {190,000 in the event that more than one person is .injured
or killed in a single accident resulting from the operationof said bus
or buses, and further that said bus or buses are covered.by propert~j
damage insurance coverin~ liability showing up to $8,000 for damage to prope
property arising from accidents caused by said bus or buses. Roll Call -

Heights State Bamk has been designated as dePository for moneys
owned by the City of Columbia Heights; and, Wt!EREAS, said ba~
has I~arnlshed collateral for such deposits to an amount Which greatly exceeds
the amount required by law; and, WHE_WEAS, said ba~ now desires to withdraw
certain collateral (U.S. Treasury Notes !~-,~[ due e/I~/47) in the amount
of.~.~'~'SO, O00.O0; and, ~WHIENEAS, the amount of collateral remaining after
drawal sufficiently covers the sm~ounts on deposit in said bank; BE IT
HERENY RESOLVED by the City Council of the City. of Columbia Heights that
the City .~:anager, in the adsence of the City Treasurer on account of illness,
be authorized to request the release of weSO, 000.O0 in seouritles to the
Columbia Heights State Bank now held by the Fi'fsi National Bank of ~{inn-
