Re.laP Meeting
January 7, 1947
Meeting called to order at 8:05 P.M. All members present.
~ayor Soderholm gave the decision of the council regarding the
Hilltop Golf Course project after much consideration, which was
that they could not see their way clear at this time to put in
the improvements asked for by the Wilkinson Home Finance Corp.
A year from now they would take this under consideration again
and see what could be done. A motion was made by Jackson and
seconded by Spekulant, that this platting be turned over to the
Zoning Commission for their approval at a later date. Roll Call -
All Ayes.
A representative of the residents around 47th and 6th Street was
present and asked that a light be installed at this corner. Mr.
01sson informed him that the Northern States Power Co. could not
supply any additional lights at this time on account of shortage
of material, but we were assured that they ~ould be available before
long.
Requests were received from t the Northern States Power Co. to
place poles at the following places:
Jackson between ~Tth and 38th Avenue
Central Avenue No. of 37th Ave.
44th Avenue, East of Central Avenue
~,~otion was made by Nygaard and seconded by Weldon, that these
requests be granted. Roll Call - All Ayes.
~otion was made by Weldon and seconded by Nygaard, tb~at a permit
be granted to John Xallenberger, 401~ Van Buren St. to occupy a
trailer at the rear of this address for ~0 days. Roll Call - All Ayes.
A letter was received from the Suburban Police & Peace Officers Ass,n.
St.Louls Park, inviting all members or officials of Our Council to
attend a meeting on January 10, 1947 at St.Louis park. ~otion was
made by Mygaard and seconded by Spekulant that this communication be
placed on file. Roll-Call - All Ayes.
~.~otion WaS made by Jackson and seconded by Nygaard, that we accept
the report received from the Fire Department for 1946. Roll Call -
All Ayes.
First reading of ordinance regarding Courtesy Benches.
Resolution offered by Jackson and seconded by Nygaard, ~ IT PUEREBY
REi0LVED, by the City Council of the City of Columbia Hei~ohts, that
the salaries of the City employees for the year 194~ as follows:

~nutes of the last regular meeting were read and approved.
Motion was made by Jackson and seconded by Weldon, that the City
~anager go ahead with the contract with the Department of Highways
for a traffic signal at ~0th and Central. Roll Call - All Ayes.
Motion was made by Jackson and seconded by 'Spekulant, that the Petition
for Sanitary Sewer in the 4500 block on 5th Street be turned over to
the City Manager.~ Roll C~ll - All Ayes.
Notion was made by Nygaard and seconded by Spekulant, that the request
from the Northern States Power Co. to install a pole on Central between
44th and ~Sth Ave. be granted. Roll Call-All Ayes.
~otion was made by Nygaard and seconded by jacksoD, that the letter
received from the Northern States Power Co.' regarding the installation
of lights at ZSth and ~ain St. and ~Sth and 2~ Street be placed on
