Corbett appeared before the Council as spokesman for the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post No.~$O, Columbia Heights, also presented a letter, making application to have charge of the 19~7 Jubilee. Nygaard made a motion, seconded by Jackspn, that the communication be placed on file and a decision made at ~a later date. Roll Call - All Ayes. A lotter was read from the Wilkinson Home Finance Corporation of Minneapolis, regarding annexing 20 acres to the City of Columbia Reights~. Jackson made a motion that this communlcationbe placed on file, seconded by Weldon. Roll Call - All Ayes. Motion was made by Jackson, seconded by Spekulant, that a License be granted to Al. E. Smith, 013 W. Broadway, ~v~inneapolis, to install Gas Heat. Roll Call - All Ayes. Motion was made by Jackson, seconded by Weldon, that permission be granted to transfer Pump License from John DeGidio to W.H. Williams at 573 ~th Ave. Roll Call - All Ayes. Hotion was made by Nygaard, seconded by Spekulant, that a Heating License be granted to Lundblad,s Plbg, & Htg. Co., ~513 Central Ave. Roll Call - All Ayes. Notion was made by Jackson, seconded by Spekulant, to place the communication on file received from L.L. Schroeder, Commissioner S~ate~of Minnesota. Roll Call - All Ayes. A letter was received from the Northern States Power Co. regarding additional lights between 41st and 42nd on~ Central, and informing us this was not possible at this time. A motion was made by Nygaard, seconded by Jackson, that this communication be placed on file. Roll call - All Ayes. Eotion was made by Nygaard, seconded by Jackson, to advertise for bi~s for Sewer Construction as soon as working details and specifications are completed. This will have to be investigated and a decision made at a later date. Resolution offered by Nygaard, seconded by Weldon, that, the City Council of the City of Columbia Heights hereby resolves; ~HEREAS, the City of Columbia Heights has made preparation to construct a Sanitary Sewer and WHEREAS, the most suitable location for such Trunk Line is along State Highway Property (East River Road from ~Tth to ~rd). BE IT HEREBY RES0~VED; that the City ~anager he ahd he is hereby instructed to acquire right-~way from *.~ o~*~ ~ ........ ~ ...... c~L~~~T~2~¥~ for such Sanitary Sewer. Resolution offered by SpekUlant, seconded by Jackson that, the City Council of the City of Columbia Heights hereby resolves that; V~HEREAS, the City of Columbia Heights has. made prepartiou to construct a Sanitary S_e?er and ?~qEREAS; such Sanitar~ Sewer will have to connect to existing T~unk Line located at Zlst Avenue and Ranpolph Street N.E. and ~EREAS; acco~in~ to contract with the City of Minneapolis, the City of Minneapolis r~serves the right to construct any ~anitary Sewer within its City L~.mits. BE IT THEREFORE RESOLVED, that the City Manager be and he is hereby instructed to arrange with the City of ~inneapolis for the construction of such Sanitary Sewer as is required. Nordin as Mayor of the City of Columbia Heights has been presented to the council, a~d Whereas a vacancy now exists for that office, Therefore be it resolved that the City Council of the City of Columbia Heights have a Special Election to be held to~ fill the office of the ~ayor for the City of Col~mbia Hei-~ats.
