Special Meeting October l, 1946
Meeting called to order by Mayor'Nordin at 8:18 PM. Roll Call -
Nygaard, Spekulant, Jackson and Nordin. WeldSn absent.
~. & Mrs. Tollefson of 4034 - 2nd St., were present at this meeting and
put in a complaint of conditions next to their property' Spekulan~ made
a motion, seconded by Jackson that this be turned over to ~ City
Attorney for investigation. Roll call - All Ayes.
A letter was received from A.J. Hromada, 1409 - 40th Ave., asking per-
mission to erect a retaining wall around the front facing of his lot, ~a~

Nygaard made a motion, seconded by Jackson, that the N.W. Linseed Oil Co.
be instructed to take care of offensive odors. Roll Call - All Ayes.
A letter was received from Roland C. Long,~ asking permission to tap
on to a private water main at 45th and 4th Street. A motion was made
by Nygaard, seconded by Spekulant, that his request be granted. Roll
Call - All Ayes.
Motion made by Spekulant, seconded by Jackson, that communication from
H.C. Anderson, secretary of Townsend Club No.4 be turned over to the
Park Board and recommend that leniency be shown. Roll Call - All Ayes.
Mr. Lee Brown, 592 - 38th Ave. was at th~ meeting again regarding
wiring in his home. He was informed that the inspector would not O.K.
the Job and therefore he would have to have the house re-wired.

Resolution offered by Nygaard, seconded by Spekulant. Whereas the City
Council has at various times met for the purpose of discussing the
budget for the year 1947; ahd,
WHEREAS the City Council has determined that the following amounts of
the budget be rai~ed by taxation;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLNED BY THE ~ity Council of the City
of Columbia Heights that the County Auditor of Anoka County be and he
is hereby instructed and authorized to levy the following amounts for
the year 1947 for the various l~nds as follows:

BE IT FURTR~ER RESOLVED that the County Auditor be and he is hereby
instructed to levy a tax of one-tenth of one Sill (.1%~ of the assessed
valuation of the City of Columbia Heights to the amount of $14b.~

Meeting called to order at 8:25 PM. Roll call - Nygaard, Spekulant, Weldon
and Jackson. Nordin absent.
Minutes of the special meeting of October 1st were read and approved.

the Amertc~m Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars, regarding using~.the ground where
