Resolution N$~by Spekulant, seconded by Nygaard. A resolution adoptin. assessment?~olls for the following local improvements, and determining that said improvement be made and ratifying and confirming all other pro- ceedings heretofore hadl Sidewalks, etc. ~ereas, the City Council of Columbia Hei&hts, Minnesota, met on the 1st day of November, 1946, at the City Office in said city, being the time and place set when and where all persons interested could appear and be heard by the Council with respect to benefits, and to the proportion of the cost of making the local improvement above described, a notice of such hearing having been heretofore duly published as required by law;and, ;~EREAS, this Council has heretofore estimated and fixed the cost of such local improvements and has prepared an assessment roll therefore. THE CITY COUNCIL OF COLU~BIA HEIGI~S HEREBY RESOLVES:~ Section I. That this Council does hereby adopt the aforesaid assess- ment roll known and described as "Assessment Roll for Local Improvement NOS. 125,126,129,133,134,135,136,137,138 and 139. Section II. That this Council hereby finds and determines that each of the lots and parcels of land enumerated in said assessment roll was and is especially benefitted by such improvement in an amount not less tha~ the amount set opposite the description of each such lot or parcel of landrespectfully in s~id assessment roll in the column headed "Amount of Proposed Assessment". And this Council further finds and determines that the proper proportion of the cost of such improvement to be especially assessed against such lot or parcel of land im the amount set mpposite the description of each such lot or parcel of land respectfully in said assessment roll in said column headed "Amount of PropoSed Assessment". Section III. That said assessment roll be and the same is hereby adopted as the assessment roll for the following local improvement here- inbefore described, and said assessment roll shall be hereafter known and designated as"Assessment Roll for Local Improvement No~. l~5,1~0, 129,133,134,135,136, 13V, 138 and 139". Section IV. That siad assessment shall be payable in annual install- ments for a period of years as shown in the Assessment Rolls, on or before the first day of June, with interest and penalties as provided by law. Section V. That this ~ouncil does hereby determine and re-determine to proceed with said improvement, does ratify and confirm all other pro- ceedings heretofore had in that regard, and said improvement shall here- after be known and numbered as Local Improvement Nos. l~O, lE6,1B9,133, 134,135,136,137,138 and 139. Section VI. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its passage. Roll Call - All ayes. R§solution offered by Nygaard, seconded by Spekulant. Section IV. That said assessment shall be payable in annual install- ments for a period of years as shown in the Assessment Rolls, on or before the first day of June, with interest and penalties as provided by law. Section VI. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its passage. Roll Call - All Ayes. ~ motion was made by Nygaard and seconded by Spekulant,to grant per- mission to J.L. Allie, 3956 Jackson St. to erect a retaining wall along the sidewalk of his property. Ro&l Call - All Ayes. A Notion was made by Nygaard, seconded by Spekulant to adjourn. Roll Call - All Ayes. Suspend reading of m~nutes of last regular meeting. meeting minutes were read and approved. The special ~r. Ralph J. Corbett appeared before the Council as spokesman for the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post No.~$O, Columbia Heights, also presented a letter, making application to have charge of the 19~7 Jubilee. Nygaard made a motion, seconded by Jackspn, that the communication be placed on file and a decision made at ~a later date. Roll Call - All Ayes. A lotter was read from the Wilkinson Home Finance Corporation of Minneapolis, regarding annexing 20 acres to the City of Columbia Reights~. Jackson made a motion that this communlcationbe placed on file, seconded by Weldon. Roll Call - All Ayes.
