Motion made by Jackson, seconded by Nygaard, that the reading of the minutes be suspended. Roll Call - All Ayes. Mr. Brown appeared at the Council meeting regarding wiring in his home and the matter is to be gone over with Hans Severson Electrical Inspector. Motion made by Jackson, seconded by Spekulant to place the Petition on file received from the residents on Main Street regarding sur- facing of said street. Roll calls - All Ayes. Motion made by Nygaard, seconded by Jackson to grantJ a licenee to C.E. Olson Furnace Co., 2~97 - 14th Ave. So. Minneapolis, Minn. Roll Call - All Ayes. Motion made by Jackson, seconded by Nygaard to grant Cigarette License to Cha$,~ Lauderdale, 4131 N.E. 4th St. Roll call - All Ayes. Motion made by Jackson, seconded by Spekulant that communication be placed on file from C.C. Ludwig, E~ecutive Secretary of the League of Minnesota Municipalities, regarding Regional Meetings. Roll call - All Ayes; Motion made by Jackson, seconded by Spekulant, that the application for Restaurant License from John A. Rollins, 3911 Univ. Ave. be placed on file. Roll Call - all ayes. Motion by Jackson, seconded by Spekulant, that an Amendment be made to the City Charter, whereby election of Councilmen by Precinct be made. Roll call - All Ayes. Motion made by Nygaard, seconded by Jackson, that WeSley Weldon be appointed to fill the vacancy on the City Council for the un- expired term. Roll call - All Ayes; Motion made by Jackson, seconded by Nygaard, that the proposed Budget be published in this weeks record. Roll call - All Ayes. It was requested that double parking signs be placed on Central Avenue between 40th and 41 st Avenue. Motion made by Jackson, seconded by Spekulant, that the City pay expenses for moving Stop boxes on Main Street where necessary. Roll Call - All Ayes. It was requested that Slow Signs be placed in alley between Main Street and Second Street, and these are to be~ordered by Mr. Olason. ~r. Olsson was asked to order a new Pump a~a~-~achinery Co~ Resolution offered by Nygaard, seconded by Spekulant. BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED by the Uity Council of the City of Columbia Heights that the City Treasurer be and she is hereby instructed to transfer the sum of $500.00 from the Liquor Fund to the Fire Fund and that there are sufficient moneys in said Liquor Fund to make such transfer. Roll Call - All Ayes. Resolution offered by Nygaard, seconded by Spekulant. BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Columbia Heights that the City Treasurer be and she is hereby instructed to transfer the sum of $560.00 from the Liquor Fund to the Street Fund, and that there are sufficient moneys i~ said Liquor Fund to make such trans- fer. BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Columbia Heights that the City Treasurer be and she is hereby instructed to transfer the sum of $10,000.00 from the Liquor Fund to the p.I.R. WeldSn absent. ~. & Mrs. Tollefson of 4034 - 2nd St., were present at this meeting and put in a complaint of conditions next to their property' Spekulan~ made a motion, seconded by Jackson that this be turned over to ~ City Attorney for investigation. Roll call - All Ayes. A letter was received from A.J. A letter was received from Roland C. Long,~ asking permission to tap on to a private water main at 45th and 4th Street. A motion was made by Nygaard, seconded by Spekulant, that his request be granted. Roll Call - All Ayes. Motion made by Spekulant, seconded by Jackson, that communication from H.C. Anderson, secretary of Townsend Club No.4 be turned over to the Park Board and recommend that leniency be shown. Roll Call - All Ayes.
