Councilman Dave Jackson assumed the chair. Motion by Nygaard, seconded by Spekulant, that Dave Jackson act as Mayor pro tern. Moll Call -All ayes. Mayor Nordin assumed the chair at 8:45 P.M. Motion by Spekulant, seconded by Nygaard, that the application of Joseph 0cel, Jr. to operate a gasoline station on Lot lI, Block "E" be granted. Residents from 44th Ave. East of Central Ave. appeared in regard to improve- ments. Were advised to get petitions and present same to Council to be act- ed on in the usual way. Virgil Larson, ~904 Lookout Place, requested parking of trailer on rear of Io~. All requirements having been complied with, a motion was made by Nyga~rd, seconded by La%hrop, that the request be granted for 90 days. Roll Call - All ayes. Earl Cleland appeared in behalf of union street employees employed on an hourly basis. Mesolution offered hy Lathrop, seconded by Nygaard. WHEREAS, certain wage adjustments are necessary for City Employees; NO~ THEREFORE: BE iT MESOLVhD by ~the City Council of the City of Columbia Heights that hourlyrates for city street employees be set at ninety-five (95~) cents per hour; That hourly rate of election clerks and judges be set at 60~ per hour; That hourly rate of pay for janitors at Nunicipal Liquor Store be set at 80~ per hour. ~{olI Call - All ayes.
