Resolution offered by Spekulant, seconded by Jackson: WHEREAS certain lots within the city limits have reverted
to the Stare for non-payment of taxes; and WHEREAS, such lots have been declared non-conservation and are
necessary for City's use for drainage and other purposes; BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Columbia Heights that the City Manager be and he is hereby instructed to make formal application to the
Commissioner of Taxation for the conveyance to the City of Columbia Heights of the following lots and parcels to
be used by the City for drainage and street purposes, to-wit:
Lots 1 & 2, Block 2, Rearrangement of Block A of Columbia Heights Annex
Lot 18 exc. South 36.8 ft, Block 64, Columbia Heights Annex
Lot 24 exc. West 124 ft., Block 61, Columbia Heights Annex

Ordinance #205 offered by Spekulant, seconded by Lathrop. An ordinance authorizing the sale by the City of
Columbia Heights of certain real estate known as the North 18 ft. of Lot 19, Block 2, First Subd. of Block F,
Columbia Heights Annex to Minneapolis. Roll call- All ayes.
Motion by Jackson, seconded by Nygaard that application for sidewalk on south side of 42nd and petition for
extension of sewer on 39th and Polk take the regular course. Roll call - All ayes.
Resolution offered by Nygaard, seconded by Lathrop: THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBIA
HEIGHTS DOES RESOLVE that the request of Reuben G. Achterkirch, d.b.a. Park Bus Line, to operate a public
conveyance automobile bus line on 49th Avenue NE between the eastern city limits and University Avenue NE; thence
along University Avenue NE from 49th Avenue to 44th Avenue NE; thence along 44th Avenue NE, thence along
Central Avenue between 44th and 40th Avenue to 37th Ave; be there and the same is hereby granted during such
times as the operation of said public conveyance automobile bus shall in all respects comply with statutes of the State
of Minnesota and the regulations of the Minnesota Railroad and Warehouse Commission, and further only during such
times as the petitioner shall have the operation of his buses protected and covered by a public liability insurance policy
providing for a payment of up to $5,000 in the event one person is injured or killed by accident arising out of the
operation of such bus, and for the payment of up to $10,000 in the event that more than one person is injured or killed
in a single accident resulting from the operation of said bus or buses, and further that said bus or buses are covered
by property damage insurance covering liability showing up to $5,000 for damage to property arising from accidents
caused by said bus or buses. Roll call - All ayes.
Motion by Jackson, seconded by Nygaard that communication from Civil Service Commission be placed on file. Roll
Call - All ayes.
Resolution offered by Nygaard, seconded by Spekulant: BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF
COLUMBIA HEIGHTS THAT WHEREAS, the voters of the City of Columbia Heights have expressed their desire
to have the sanitary sewer system extended. NOW THEREFORE, BE tT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City
of Columbia Heights that the issue of a $275,000 bond issue for said sanitary sewer system extension be submitted
to the voters June 3, 1946. Roll call - All ayes.
Resolution offered by Jackson, seconded by Nygaard: BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF COLUMBIA
HEIGHTS that whereas a bond issue is contemplated for the extension of a sanitary sewer system and WHEREAS
it is the desire of the City Council to systematically retire and provide for bond retirement. Now, THEREFORE, BE
IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Columbia Heights that a minimum of $1000.00 per month of
Liquor Store earnings be earmarked and set aside for bond retirement. Roll Call ~ All ayes.
Resolution offered by Jackson, seconded by Spekulant: BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of the City
of Columbia Heights that the City Treasurer be and he is hereby instructed to transfer the sum of $4100.00 from the
Liquor Fund to the following funds.

Police $1,500
Fire $ 600
and that there are sufficient monies in said Liquor Fund to make such transfer. Roll Call - All ayes.

Motion by Nygaard seconded by Jackson to suspend reading of the minutes. Roll Cal~

Motion by Jackson seconded by ~pekulant that petition for extension of water main
on 3rd Street from43rd to 45th take the regular course. Roll Call - All ayes.
Motion by Jackson seconded by Lathrop that petition for water main from Stinson
Blvd. and 42nd Avenue north and from 4§th and Arthur east to Stinson Blvd. take
the ~ regular course. Roll Call - All ayes.
Motion by Nygaard seconded by Spek~lant that petition for sidewalk on northside of
4~nd between 4th and 5th Street take the regular course. Roll Call - All ayes.
Notion by Nygaard seconded by Lathroo that reouest for transfer of gas station lic-
ense from James McCann to Clarence Amenrud to co,rate at 900 40th Ave. be granted.

City Council of the City of Col,mubia Heights that the wages of the Park Board em-
oloyees and the Fire Chief be increased $10.00 per month beginning Nay 1st, 1946.
