Mo.tlon by Spe~ulant, seconded by Jackson, to leave the matter of buying or trying out a Coca Cola dispenser for the Liquor Store, up to the City Manager and the Manager of the Liquor ~e,re. M~tion by Jackson, seconded by Pritchard, that. t~e City Fire Dept. be given authority t= ~et the specifications for a new Fire truck, ready and turn over to the City Manager ta advertise for bids on same. ~bll call - Ail ayes. M~tion by Bentzen, seconded by epekulant to turn over to the City Manager for an e~timate of. the cost of oiling and paving ~2n~[ Ave. Roll call - Ail ayes. Motion by Pritchar=, seconded by Jackson, that the water main connection on Monroe St. and ~Sth thru Fridley be turned over to the City Manager for a~proval. Roll call - Ail ayes. Motion by Bentzsn, seconded by Pritchard, that the petition of ~m. Levy and ~m. Poague for grading of alley across Lot 4, ~alton's rearrangement of Lots 33 and 34, Block A of Reservoir Hills be denied, in view of the City ~anager'a report on the condition of the delinquent taxes. Resolution offered by Jackson, seconded by Bentzen, ~H~REAS, A petition to install cement sidewalks, curbs and gutters on both sides of Monroe ~t. between 42nd & ~3rdAve, ha~ been presented to the City Council by property owners along said street; and Whereas, the said petition has been referred to the City Manager for investigation and report on the requisite, number of sigmatures, and hhe City Manager has made such report orating that the requisite number of signatures has been attached to said petition: THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBIA H~IGHTS HF=REBY RF~OLVES: That the City Council hereby finds and determines that said petition for said improvement is signed by the real- ,ont..Owners of more than 51~ of the real estate to be assessed for said improvement. That the Clt~ Council hereby determines to install cement sidewalks, curbs and g~tters on both sides of Monroe St. between 42nd and 43rd Ave. and to assess the same against the abutting property. That the City Manager is directed to estimate the costs of said im- provements and draft a listof the several iota or parcels of land fronting upon such im- provements which are benefitted thereby, further, that the City Manager report back to the Council on said improvement as soon as may be. Motion by Bentzen, seconded by Spekulant that the City Treasurer be authorized to issue a week's salary to the Municipal Judge. Roll cal 1 - Ail ayes. (Vacation) Motion by Jackson, seconded by ~entzen, that Andy Nor~strom's salary be terminated as of July 15th, 19~O. Roll call - all ayes.
